Nice little tourist place. The staff was very friendly. They had a lot of little tourist trap stuff like you might expect. They had a lot of chocolate and saltwater taffy, fireworks, and a large selection of inexpensive knives. They also sell Watkins vanilla extract and cinnamon which is nice. We use Watkins when we bake and it tastes good.

The winding and gentle hills of Missouri with their undulating peaks and valleys make for a pleasant drive on the interstate. I-44 is host to many truck stops and rest stations, but the little place called Ozark Village deserves special mention. Inside OV, there’s a little bit of this and a little bit of that. To be honest, the entire store is one massive collection of esoteric goodness. Where does one start? There’s everything in there from vanity license plate rims to post cards to a variety of clothing. Throughout the store there’s one rack of funny gifts after another. See the pic I uploaded about«old cowboys dying». It is representative of the humor which is abundant in spades in many of the gifts you can purchase. In addition to gag gifts, the store also sells men’s and woman’s hats, t-shirts, jackets, sweaters and so forth. There’s Star Trek gear, Betty Boop, Route 66 stuff, plastic cap rifles and pistols, old fashion salt taffy and fudge, on and on it goes! This independent store hosts enough merchandise to keep you laughing, plus the prices are affordable enough to take home several gifts for friends, plus stock your own larders with trinkets of stuff that will help remind you of this peaceful and beautiful part of the United States. Keep a sharp eye pealed for a massive red barn with white letters. It is set back from the freeway a bit, but will be noticed by the semi-observant. I’ve uploaded a picture or ten of this place to see what it looks like so you don’t miss it. By all means, stop in and soak up the Americana.
