Amazwi is a wonderful gallery in Saugatuck Michigan. It is completely unlike any other gallery in the Saugatuck/​Douglas area. Owners Wally and Mike travel to and buy in eastern, southern and west Africa. Beautiful original paintings, Shona stone carvings, jewelry, carved wooden pieces, some home décor items. They have a wide price range so there is something for everyone. I have known the owners since before they opened this gallery 11 years ago and it just keeps getting better and better. I just bought a beautiful Zimbabwean stone sculpture and several fabric bread baskets from Ghana. VERY pleased with my purchases! And Amazwi also has two furnished suites to rent — great location and lovingly furnished,

We Never Miss A Chance to Stop In
This is one of our favorite places in Saugatuck and we never miss a chance to stop in and see what is new. Over the years we have bought several Njenga oil paintings, vases, baskets, and jewelry. On our most recent visit we got to know the local ceramicist, Jeff Blandford, who sells his beautiful creations alongside those created by African ceramicists. We bought one of Jeff’s this time because we fell in love with the bold white and red stripes. The prices are very reasonable at Amazwi and you’ll definitely find something in your price range. Even if you don’t buy anything, stop in and see the amazing art on display.
