Agree with others… great ice cream and chocolate fare, but a bit pricy. We really pick and choose when we go for that reason. For the price of a cone, I can buy a whole gallon of ice cream at Demonds. But when I have a few extra dollars in my pocket and have a craving, it is worth the walk downtown. Love the chocolate turtles and salted caramel ice cream. Always worth a rare and special treat.

The ice cream was tasty(if overpriced). However, the experience was tainted by the woman at the cash register interrogating the only Black woman in our group(asking her to spell her last name while the cashier inspected the card and consulted with the manager) while easily processing everyone else’s cards. She only relented when the my friend’s white husband joined her. Do they experience a lot of credit card theft for the purposes of buying two ice cream cones??? We would have stayed and shopped in Saugatuck longer but after that incident we went back to our lake house pretty quickly.

Crazy expensive and crazy good Came with the kids after a concert in the park. The line was way long but moved quickly. I felt a bit like John Travolta, wondering how good a shake must be to be a five dollar shake. But it was really good. Single scoop cake cone is $ 4.75. Huge scoops. Waffle cone with sprinkles is another two bucks. I had the Saugatuck Mud, and it was fabulous. My wife had a salted caramel and it was awesome, too.

It’s is ridiculously overprised. There is no need to have two in a tiny town. I had the fudge and it was so sweet, I couldn’t finish it. I’d recommend walking down the street to notties. It’s reasonably priced and healthy frozen yogurt.

Great place for tons of ice cream and desserts on a warm, sunny day in Saugatuck. We have visited the Kilwin’s in Wilmington, NC and they are equally as good.

Anyone saying negative things about this place, or complains of being«lactose intolerant» needs to man up. It’s a candy/ice cream store. Made with dairy. Stop being a crybaby. This place is AWESOME!

$ 5.25 for a scoop of ice cream! Ridiculous! I had their speciality Turtle Ice Cream… no big deal!

Plenty of ice cream shops in the area but I always head back to Kilwins for my cookie dough ice cream. A bit on the high side of things but YOLO! Find a small table and enjoy some ice cream with your significant other or finish walking around the rest of the town so you can burn off some of those calories!

So, I know this is a town gem, but given my lactose intolerance, I was not able to enjoy anything at this place :(Given the smells, visions, and expressions of delight, I really wanted to indulge in Kilwins Chocolates. I asked about their dairy-free options and they only had raspbery sorbet. I tried it, and it really wasn’t something in which I wanted to indulge. So, I’m sad that I didn’t get to undergo the pleasures of Kilwins. Maybe next time…

This year we found there are 2 great Kilwins to satisfy your sweet tooth! They’ve got the best fudge and if you have a hankerin’ for some top notch ice cream to cool you down, you won’t be disappointed!

I can’t go to Michigan without stopping at Kilwins!!! love the ice cream. My favorite flavors are Saugatuck mud, Mackinaw island Fudge and now the salted Carmel. Good thing I do not live close. Along with great candy and ice cream if is very nice to see such fresh young faces happy to serve you up your favorite treat. It’s like taking a trip bak in time.

How can anyone taste the sea salt caramel ice cream and then get a different flavor? I also tried the raspberry chocolate truffle ice cream but even though it was great it wasn’t nearly on the level of the salted caramel. The inside is often crowded and there is a definite«tourist» vibe. They also offer caramel covered apples in the tourist season(none were made when we were there in March) as well as truffles, coffees and other drinks. There are few tables in the back but don’t count on getting seating here. I was a total creeper and asked everyone around me what they thought of what they’d ordered. We all agreed that the ice cream, etc was great but that it was overpriced.

I had been in the historic district of Saugatuck before and wanted to come back again. I was with some friends that had never here before and I made it a point of bringing them here. This town is so cool, small town vibe, so relaxing. After a big meal we wanted something sweet, and needed to buy souvenirs so we hit the DT Saugatuck. Lucky we, we found parking right in front of this place. As I got out of the car I looked and thought that it must be a sign of God, we found parking right in front of an ice cream shop. We walked in and saw 3 lines(chocolates, beverages and ice cream) I immediately walked, as if God guided my steps, to the ice cream line. I tried 3 flavor and all were amazing. I had the salted caramel, two berry pie and the cappuccino chocolate pie. All 3 were great but my favorite was the berry one. Once we left the ice cream shop we started walking around, enjoying the perfect day, relaxed vibe and nice shops around. Suddenly I saw another ice cream shop, and another and many more. Then I realized that God did not want me to try this ice cream by giving us a parking right in front of the shop. We just were in a place with many ice cream shops. But wait, what if he really wanted us to try this one and none of the other being that there are so many??? God! please send me a sign! Going back to the ice cream shop. It is medium size and customer service is nice a professional. The prices are a bit high but worth every penny. KC a must if in the city.

I’ve enjoyed Kilwin’s before in Lake Geneva, WI. We make it a point to hit that Kilwin’s at least once a summer. This Kilwin’s has the exact same feel and look as the one I’ve known since I was a kid. However, this one seems a bit slower. There is always a line, but this line moves quite slow. Perhaps it was because we went on a Sunday night, and there were only a few workers there. Maybe they didn’t expect a Sunday night rush? In any case, the high rating is based on their delicious ice cream. They make the classics, and they make them well. I had the Georgia Peach and my husband had the Cookies & Cream. Other favorites include the Blueberry Waffle Cone and the Mud Pie. Kilwin’s is pricy though. Two one scoop sugar cones(nothing fancy) cost us a little over $ 9.
