Delicious… doesn’t do this place justice. You could easily drive by without ever stepping in, but you’d be missing out. This has to be Saugerties best kept secret. I don’t even want to write a review in fear that word will get out & I won’t be able to get seat in the small dining area anymore! BES is the real deal when it comes to ‘farm to table’. It’s locally grown comfort food with a modern twist. The food is so fresh, you feel good when you’re done eating! The whole dining experience is beautiful. The moment you step through the door, you are warmly greeted into a cool chic interior. Each dish is a work of art & served with a lot of thought. For all the attention to detail & sophistication of the food — it’s still a super accessible dining experience. There is something for everyone to eat & children to adults feel welcomed. I love this place. Just don’t tell anyone about it! ;)

Read all the hype about food in the Hudson Valley? It’s all true at Black Eyed Suzies. Comfort food meets innovation. The absolute best mac & cheese I’ve ever had. Another favorite is cornmeal crusted chicken. And the handcut french fries! Take a look at the menu:
Friendly folks, small but beautiful seating, each dish(including sides) hand made and special. Locally sourced ingredients. And I can bring my gluten free friends!

Just really good clean tasty food made from fresh local ingredients. It’s everything Hudson Valley food is about but without all the fanfare. The salmon with a mild Mexican style sauce, sprinkled with candied jalapeño(yeah!), is delicious! As are the various sides of seasonal vegetables. Probably the best beef burger I’ve eaten in these parts — juicy with lots of flavor. The design and décor is pretty cool looking and nicely thought out without trying too hard. The service is just right, neither inattentive nor intrusive and all over you. You can totally relax and enjoy your food here, feeling satisfied and content in the end. Nice seasonal desserts too and they actually have a real tea program that not many restaurants care to even bother with these days.

I drive to Saugerties from Eastern MA mostly just to eat here and see Dom. This place is amazing! The food quality and service are outstanding.

Discovered this wonderful little café on a walk thru Saugerties downtown area. Greeted by Dominique who was so friendly. He made me a homemade ice tea to go — from fresh brewed lemon, ginger and mint tea with honey. I went back and ordered dinner for take out. All local farm to table dinner ingredients. Had a beautiful pasta dish with creamy goat cheese and asparagus and garlic. Would eat here all the time if I lived locally

Lovely spot, beautiful small café, tastefully decorated and serving imaginative, delicious food! Had brunch there today(so far offered only on Saturdays) — fantastic scrambled eggs bowl(eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese and served with sautéed kale and bits of bacon, plus crostini). Great service, good coffee, and excellent desserts. My friends had the strawberry shortcake, which disappeared with amazing speed…
