This place is like heaven!!! Everything on their menu is just amazing. I really enjoy coming here at least once a month.

Not disgusting or inedible, but for their reputation something was definitely missing. Honestly I’ve had better dogs from a cart in New York City. Their secret sauce is good but their hot dogs are just mushy boiled and weird. The service was good and we like their onion rings that was about it.

First, they only except cash. But they don’t tell you that. There is no sign on any of the windows or doors. They said it was posted but it’s not. However, for your convenience they have an ATM inside for you to use. Convenient. The ATM charges you $ 2.50. So my $ 5 lunch cost me $ 7.50. Not a lot. But poor business practice. And the hot dogs taste like hot dogs. Nothing special.

THE best dog in NY and possibly the world. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to indulge in the fine art that is the hotdog.

I have drove past this place for years. Today I was out for a ride and the traffic light stopped right in front, so I turned. I ordered the Texas Hot Weinner. The bun was soft, warm and melted in my mouth. The chili was good but watery. I was very disappointed in the taste of the hot dog. It was a good experience that will not do again.

Love these guys! Very simple menu, great place to bring kids. It’ like being back in the 70’s. Get the fries with cheese!

We’ve only tried the Dallas Hot Weiners on their menu, which are basically boiled dogs w/onion topping that tasted kinda like chillie. Not bad, but Gray’s/King’s Papaya or any of the Sabbret hot dog stands in the City are better. But if you’re not in the City and you’re in dire need of a dawg, this’ll do in a pinch. Cheese fries, although limp, were good.

The sauce is the best!!! The service is fast and it won’t bust your wallet. Try the fries with cheese sauce.

Pretty straightforward hot dog, burger, and chicken shop. Quick service, quite cheap, and the food suffices(it’s not anything you’ll crave later in the week). The hot weiners are good — the hot sauce adds a nice kick, but isn’t incredibly hot. Burgers are fine, fries are good, and you’ll be in and out in a half hour. One hot weiner is $ 2, burgers and chicken are around $ 4, and there are fish sandwiches on the menu. If you’re on a tight time and money budget, it’s better than McDonald’s.

I LOVE businesses like this: no-nonsense, frill-free, hearty food that’s cheap and homemade. My boyfriend had been chomping at the bit to try Dallas Hot Weiners and when we found ourselves in Saugerties this weekend, we stopped by for lunch. Set right off of 9W in the middle of town, this place gets a lot of traffic, and with just a few tables and stools in the restaurant, it can be tough to find a place to sit. We settled for two stools along the bar, where you can watch the cooks prepare the burgers, fries, and everything else patrons will order. While they have a decent variety on their menu to satisfy picky eaters – hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and even a salad that didn’t look half-bad when prepared – there’s really only one reason you come to Dallas Hot Weiners. The dogs! And while some people rave about them, I found them merely meh. I ordered my hot weiner with«Dallas Sauce,» the restaurant’s famous special sauce, along with onions and sauerkraut, and BF ordered the same. We shared a plate of shoestring fries, fried golden brown without being overcooked or tasting of old oil. The hot dogs aren’t grilled, they’re boiled, and there’s no special recipe to the dogs themselves: they’re just plain hot dogs you pull out of a back of Ballparks. That didn’t appeal to me at all. And I found the Dallas Sauce to be imbalanced and have far too much black pepper. I’d much rather prefer plain Gulden’s mustard on my hot dog, and if I’m getting that, then the Dallas Hot Weiner is seriously nothing special. My boyfriend liked it considerably more than I did, but he also calls me a «hot dog snob» for rarely liking anything less than a Nathan’s dog straight from Coney Island. But considering I can buy two of these hot dogs for the price of one Nathan’s, I’ll deal with the sub-par weiner in exchange for a filling and cheap lunch. A quick reminder that this place is cash only.

This isn’t the East Village, where your hot dog place comes lacquered in irony and false nostalgia. What you see us what you get at this clean, pleasant regional«chain»(there are three in the area): dogs for less than $ 2 and other simple grill items like burgers and grilled cheese. It’s fine, quick, and clean, and has more than once been a destination for us with our five-year-old. But let’s be honest: even a good boiled hot dog can’t merit higher than a three star rating.

Fries are good, but the Dallas Hot Weiner wasn’t any better than a Sabrett hot dog. Definitely had better.

Some of the best hot dogs around! In all three locals the food is consistently good, served fast, and the wait staff is always friendly. They also serve up burgers, souvlakis, chicken patties and more, but don’t go here if you’re expecting high end gourmet food, this is straight up diner fair. When I’m feeling very much the carnivore I’ll get the Bacon cheeseburger with Dallas Sauce and onions. The Dallas hots are perfect, and you can even throw some of it on your fries for a nice spicy treat. Dallas never disappoints.

Man I just love hot dogs, even more so when I’m tripping through Saugerties or Kingston. These are not of the carny Connecticut variety or the Nathans beach side or the dirt water dog street karts(which I love BTW). These are just boiled dogs with Dallas’ secret sauce. If I had to guess, it’s a watered down light chili sauce w/meat. It’s tasty and I like it! You can slam quite a few as they are small. There are a few more items on the menu but not much. Fries, chicken fingers, a gyro, grilled cheese. Whatever a small, very small diner could knock out minus salads. Tasty if your expectations are calmly resting in the back of of your mind.

My memory of the ones in Kingston leave my palate much wetter, but this location comes close to the memory… The sauce tastes about right(fantabulous), but what they need to do to really deserve my 4-star rating(as I was teetering on a 3) is to ensure they add enough of the stuff: the onions, the mustard, and of course the sauce. Even though a basic hot dog is $ 1.65, I still think to keep the addiction alive, they need to make sure they awaken all taste buds like the ones in Kingston used to do. Service is fine and there is a parking lot though, so check it out!

Out of this world dogs, awesome pitstop when you’re hungry. For less than $ 2.00 you can get a Dallas Hot Weiner: a straight forward hot dog on a steamed, soft bun topped off with hot mustard, chopped onions, and SAUCE. The sauce is the catch here, it’s a rich, sweet, tangy sauce somewhere between barbecue sauce, beef gravy, and chili. It’s certainly what made the weiner, but for that matter, it’s what makes just about anything you put it on, including the whopping plates of fries that come doused in it. Next time you’re hungry do yourself a favor and stop through here, pick up two or three weiners and some fries(to split with a friend). You won’t be disappointed.
