I love this little store. All the important British & Irish goodies are here(for me that is Marmite, Ribena, Cumberland Sausages, Irish Bacon, Walkers crisps and Double Deckers). The imported stuff can be a little pricey compared to the UK but that’s true of anywhere selling authentic imported goods. The pies are excellent! The store is quirky and the dude who runs it is interesting and witty. There’s a touch of Fawlty Towers here and I always leave having had a good laugh. That is priceless.

The stretch of 212 between Saugerties and Woodstock does not have many options for a traveler in the mood for a good, quick snack. Jolly’s fits this bill perfectly. A sausage roll, Cornish Pasty(like the one I’m eating as I type this), or a Steak and Kidney Pie all hit the spot, are all home made, and all relatively inexpensive. If, like me, you wish to buy an imported good that we just don’t get in the states(like the Walkers Cheddar and Onion Crisps! WIN!) then your visit could get a little pricey, but it’s an IMPORTSTORE. Pricey comes along with it. The fellow behind the counter whose name I never remember to ask, is down so down to earth you feel like you’re a regular even if you’re not. I’ve only visited twice myself, as that I so rarely need to drive that stretch of road, but rest assured that if I find myself on that road while peckish(heh heh… colloquialisms) this is the first place I’ll try!

I walked in not really knowing what to expect, and I wasn’t really that impressed with the store. The products were nice, imported from the UK, but there’s only a few aisles. I’m not sure if I went on a day where supplies were low or something, but the atmosphere wasn’t very rich. It’s also really expensive considering how much the products are comparatively in the UK, but I suppose it’d be the same anywhere in America. So, it’s a interesting, unique, little store. But don’t come in expecting a whole lot.

The best selection of British foods in the area. And they have a nice little parrot in the shop named Timmy. Stop in for a cuppa, a visit and a beef & kidney pie! Or buy some Marmite & a big box of PG Tips!

This place is kind of unique stocking British goods. You can pull over and get a steak and kidney pie or sausage roll for lunch or a snack. They do heat them up in the microwave but it seems authentic to me. They have plenty of other stuff to. Not surprsisingly, but very importantly, they have Colman”s mustard. This place is also only yards(or should I say meters) away from a fine choclate shop. Please note that I entered the wrong email address in my frirst attempt at a review… Unilocal may not have fixed iy yet but I went back and entered teh corrcet email address. It is
