Best hardware store in the Mid-​Hudson Valley. Reasonable prices and the staff is terrific; they are not only very nice and knowledgeable, but will go out of their way to help their customers, whether it’s explaining the best product for the job or going above & beyond to locate an item, no matter how obscure. They once refused to charge me for an oddly shaped item until I could return and assure them that it worked properly. I can’t imagine too many other businesses that treat their customers so well.

Had some keys made at Lowe’s and they screwed it up. Neither key worked. I then tried Smith Hardware and the guy made perfect keys. While there I looked around and found some things «I couldn’t live without.» It’s a great store.

First off their prices are very good and I must say they always have what you are looking for even obscure parts
Every single person who I have ever dealt with there is friendly, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond
If you order an item, it comes lightning quick and you are called the day it comes in
In addition to hardware there are many other items sold
Have you been in a Home Depot or Lowes lately? No one knows anything about the department they work in of you can even find someone ! They operate with so few employees that you could easily loose your breath if you had to search someone out to help you. Smiths Hardware puts both of these Giants to shame! If you live anywhere in the area or even if it’s a little drive, give these folks a try and I promise you will not be dissatisfied

Traditional neighborhood hardware store that has professional, knowledgeable and reliable service. Beats the heck out of any of the neighboring big box stores.
