Two stars because food was good but service was a disaster. We gave this place another chance after mixed experiences from our family and friends. It was a Friday night in December and I can expect a little distraction because of the holidays. But we were standing at the hostess stand and this hostess, who was skinny as a rail, saw us standing in front of her and did not even bother to greet at us but continued to play or text with her cell phone. My girlfriend almost said something when this hostess finally decided to talk and instead of greeting us she asked«Do you guys have a reservation»? I said no, but we still can eat here right?(sarcastic). She replied that she was going to check for a table and set us at a booth for two near the patio entrance. Our waitress, Roxeanne was nice at the beginning, but later on, she became a disaster. We ordered Burrata and Grilled Oysters for appetizers and Salmon and NY Sirloin for main courses. We were not even done with appetizers when the cart comes pushing our entrees. Seriously??? Is the kitchen in a rush or our waitress wants us out of here? Our table is not even big enough to fit four plates. So we asked our waitress to send our entrees back. later on, she became more confused and while on the weeds, she served my wine glass at the next table and obviously forgot to give me mine. We told another blonde waitress to remind her about my wine, which finally came right on time before main course. Salmon(appear to be wild fish, not farm raised) and NY Sirloin were great, steak was perfectly cooked, flavorful and juicy. After we were done with our entrees, here comes our beloved waitress Roxeanne again, who asked how dinner was. She got our compliments for the food, none for the service. Then, the next disaster, she dropped the check without asking if we wanted desserts or coffee. My girlfriend was furious but I calmed her down: «Leave the poor waitress alone, maybe she had a rough day». So we paid the check and left, and since my girlfriend paid, she probably stiffed her. Hopefully, if we decide to come back, we can request a waitress who is both, physically and mentally on board, becasue this one wasn’t. And when we left again, the same hostess was on the cell phone again, but this time she greeted us a quick goodnight.

found this restaurant though Unilocal.service was great. i had the surf. 8 oz filet mignon. good meat, perfectly cooked, but not much taste. the lobster was fine. my companion had the veal chop, which was very tender and perfectly cooked. 5 for the veal, 3 for the surf and turf, which comes out to a 4. i’d go back again.

Rosario reminds me of Jay Gatsby: all pretense, no substance. High prices, linen tablecloths and pretentious staff do not a fine dining experience make. The bottom line is both the quality of the food and the cost relative to the experience. Rosario fails, miserably, on both counts. The salads are small. My wedge salad was two skimpy pieces of iceberg, surrounded by several cherry tomatoes cut in half, and some bacon pieces(compared to the Capital Grill, whose wedge stands about five inches high), what a disappointment. The menu states that steaks are served with a chef’s selection of vegetables. Well, the chef must have been pissed at us because our selection was several green beans, a piece of cauliflower and a piece of squash. The available sides weren’t much better. We found the hostess and waitstaff to be aloof and haughty. Painfully long waits between courses, without bringing clean tableware or cleaning up the previous course’s crumbs; never asked for another drink; and prices that belong in a Boston steak house. If you are going to charge city prices the food, and experience, better be great… this wasn’t! I will say that my wife’s filet was cooked perfectly, BUT, how can you call yourself a steakhouse when you don’t even offer bernaise sauce? Please! I’ll still shop downstairs where I can get one of the best burgers in the area, and the food is good in both quality and value; but I’ll not be stopping back upstairs again.

OK, So I hate to sound like a broken record… BUT, once again we went to Rosaria’s. My husband decided to branch out and order the Prime Sirloin Strip Steak. I ordered the same ol, same ol… Chicken Piccata(aka Lemon Chicken you can cut with a fork)…Yum. I tried my husbands steak and OMG… there is no disappointment here. Wow, this is the steak for me… super, super tender, cooked«perfectly»(and I mean perfectly)…and the tastiest steak I have ever tasted, and super thick… Being a self-taught cook, I know getting a super thick steak cooked perfectly is an art in itself. This was perfect. He enjoyed every bite. If you are looking for the ultimate steak that is literally melt in your mouth, super tasty, and cooked to your liking, this is THE steak for you… And if you are a creature of habit and have a lemon obsession like me, I stick to my Chicken Piccata, which is enjoyable every time. This place was MOBBED on New Years Eve with reservations not only for dinner, but for the after party as well. Not surprising… Convenient parking, gorgeous décor, and most importantly the best quality food and steaks around… period.

First time dinner party of four tonight. Location and ambiance are great. I wasn’t impressed by the snooty attitude of the hostesses upon check in for our reservation. Booths are round shaped and nice, interior looks great. Three of us ordered filets, two well and one medium. The other dish was chicken piccata. I ordered a side of Yukon mashed(served family style). Drinks were slow to come(not overly busy tonight — not sure if this was because it was the day after Christmas). The food came out, hot and well presented. Two of the filets were well and the third which was supposed to be medium but was very well done also. It was sent back and when it returned the person who brought it over(no identification of who she was, but was not our server) asked that it be cut to be sure that it was cooked right. I felt that her attitude was standoffish at first, when our guest cut the filet, everyone including the woman who brought it over was shocked that it was pretty raw, her attitude changed real fast when she saw that it was not cooked correctly again. To her credit she apologized and took it back quickly. It returned approximately 5 – 7 minutes later and on the next cut was better but not quite medium. Our guest was so hungry he just ate it. Also, the Yukon mashed were served as fingerling like potatoes– not mashed at all. The chicken piccata was noted to be excellent. Again, on our next round drinks were slow to the table. Other than this it was pretty standard dining, I was not overly impressed. With the moderately high pricing I expected a lot more. In the same price range, there are many better options. Pellana Prime Steakhouse in Danvers is the place to go. You will not be disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy Rosaria but just wasn’t impressed. I forgot to bring my phone which is why I did not check in.

Love Rosaria! I’ve only been twice but everything has be wonderful. Great bread(with plenty and they refill it, unlike many restaurants that are stingy with bread). I’ve had the caprese and fried calamari as appetizers which were both delicious. Each time I’ve been there I have ordered the Delmonico steak, medium rare. Cooked perfectly and so delicious! Something worth noting is their vegetables. I often don’t love the vegetables at restaurants. They are usually bland and/or not cooked well. I had green beans with my steak that I loved! Not mushy at all and a great flavor that everyone at my party agreed on. I have had the tiramisu for dessert, which was a nice end to the meal. The staff always takes care of you and are all very nice and personable! I can’t eat to go back. Yummm

I’ve been here a few times now and I have to say last night was such a great experience. I live in the area but own a salon in Newton, so I wanted to treat my staff to a good holiday dinner. We had reservations last night and everyone was raving about the place today at work. We were able to sit in a private room with a beautiful round table and enjoy each others company. Our server was Julie H and she was the best waitress I’ve had in a while anywhere. She was very attentive, friendly and had a great personality. She never rushed us once. The food and drinks all came out in a timely manner throughout the night. We had lost track of time and even thought they had closed and we were still chatting over dessert not once did we feel the rush to leave. We got the fried calamari, antipasto, filet mignon with mashed potatoes and grilled shrimp entrée, tiramisu and cheesecake. Everything was perfect. I’m so happy that the experience went this way and the girls enjoyed themselves after traveling 30+ minutes to come to the restaurant. Great food, wine and service. Will most definitely be back!

Lovely atmosphere but it stops there. For the price I would go elsewhere. Limited on their beer selection awful recommendation on the wine. Very loud, portions reasonable. I must say our server was very pleasant and helpful. Table side service was nice. Overall, I would I venture somewhere else

The wait staff were personable and attentive. Food was excellent. The Rosaria salad was amazing and the waitress offered to split it in the kitchen since we were splitting it. The onion soup was slightly sweet but delicious. The side of lobster Mac and cheese could have used a little bit more lobster but was nevertheless yummy. Bone in sirloin was to die for and the shrimp scampi with risotto had gigantic shrimp and flavor. The expressos were definitely European style full of flavor. Home made tiramisu was awesome. This place is definitely a must try. Really a hidden jewel. You would never know it was here by driving by.

I’ve been here a few times and I always forget to write a review. The food here is very, very good. The wine is great and the service is exceptional. The restaurant is very pretty. Not at all what you’d expect over a VFW and next to a K Mart. There is a beautiful deck out back with a waterfall that makes you forget that you’re in Saugus. This is a great place for date night or a special occasion. They often have live music at the bar as well. The menu has changed over time and all of the new restaurant kinks have definitely been ironed out. I don’t feel like it’s overly expensive fit the quality of the food. The grilled oyster appetizer is ridiculously delicious and the steaks are obviously fantastic. The desserts are pretty good too. Request Marissa or Michelle for the most outstanding service.

My husband and I have been looking for a new favorite restaurant since Abfab in Melrose closed. This is it. Grilled oyster appetizer was cooked and seasoned perfectly and there were SIX oysters, not the measly three in most restaurant apps. Watermelon martinis are served in a small amount in a chilled martini glass with skewered watermelon chunks; the remainder of the drink stays in a long slim glass, sitting in a glass ice bucket. Perfection. The bolognese is sublime. It is exactly how a bolognese should be: rich and mellow with deep flavors of tomato, meat, and cheese. I just passed out thinking about it. My husband’s sirloin was cooked and seasoned perfectly(med rare) but the veg were sparse. Ala carte whipped potatoes and fresh broccolarabe made up for them. I wanted to stick my face into the potatoes. They had fontina in them. I just passed out again. And then, the best waitress I have ever had the pleasure of meeting — Marissa!!! — brought our dessett. Cannoli. Canolli? Doesn’t matter. Crunchy, fresh shell, cheese not too sweet and so so smooth. Plate driz sorry. I keep passing out. Drizzled with chocolate. All food and service were impeccable. I may get a job there just to be near the delicious food. Aaand the place is GORGEOUS. Propose to your girlfriend on the deck by the waterfall, or meet all your friends here to celebrate your 40th, 50th, 60, 70, 80 you get the picture. Eat here every chance you get. I plan to.

I used to live in this area a while ago. Imagine my surprise when I tried to swing by the hilltop steakhouse for lunch. It had been demolished. Oh well, I was never good at maintaining long distance relationships. I broke out my trusty Unilocal.I discovered this place about a mile away. I came in on a slow Thursday for lunch. The restaurant is very well decorated. Lots of dark wood. Very upscale vibe. The lunch menu was pretty limited. I wanted a steak so I ordered off the dinner menu. Wedge salad was delicious. It looked a little weak when it first came out but it had just the right amount of blue cheese, oil and pancetta. It was great. I had the center cut filet ordered medium. It came out at just the right time very hot. It was perfectly cooked. I don’t think they do anything to the steaks. It was naked. I love that. All a steak needs is a little salt and pepper. The staff were friendly and courteous. I recommend this place. They have pasta and seafood too The bar is well stocked too.

The absolute best, most professional and highly delicious restaurant and function facility anywhere! The staff are more than friendly and always helpful and you can not beat the quality of the food here! My partner and I choose wisely to have had our wedding ceremony and reception at this fine establishment. We were more than satisfied with the attention to detail, great atmosphere, and superb appetizers, food and beverage here on the most important day of my partner and I s life together and our guests absolutely loved and raved about our event at Rosaria! Thank you to all the management, waitstaff, bartenders and chef for the time of our lives!

Excellent experience! I wasn’t too sure when we pulled into the parking lot(I’m not yet a suburbs girl, and a bit wary of restaurants near strip malls… or VFWs), but that’s where my doubts left me. Beautiful lobby, gorgeous restaurant. Excellent service(though we did have the place to ourselves — I guess no one goes out to a romantic dinner on Super Bowl Sunday but us!). The bar was crowded and sounded lively. Ambiance was nice: curved booths and gorgeous woodwork looked very tasteful. The wine lockers were impressive, and made me want one(someday!). Steaks were enormous, and delicious. We both had the filet, with the recommended sauce(on the side, of course!). I preferred it on the veggies, the steak didn’t need it. Delicious house dressing on the Rosaria salad, Caesar was obviously fresh. Not a huge, lengthy menu, and pretty traditional steakhouse fare, so not a foodie’s paradise, but solid offerings: pastas, chicken and seafood dishes, and of course, for the carnivores, the steaks. Impressive wine list, with an excellent selection of «bargain bottles»(my words, not theirs, I bet their wording was prettier). A surprising number of dessert choices(we had the sorbet. It was fab). In spite of myself, super convenient location — *right* off Rt. 1. Huge function room out back(from what I could see). This was a birthday dinner for a man who loves steak, whose lady who loves wine, and we left full, satisfied, and happy. Will definitely go back.

Beautiful space, wonderful service and delicious food. The portions are HUGE so bring your appetite. I couldn’t eat the rest of my meal because I was so full and I didn’t have an appetizer. Tastes so good the next day! After dinner we went over to the bar which is very nice. We had some cocktails, coffee and dessert there. They have entertainment there as well. There was an entertainer named Vanesssa Salvucci and she was terrific! Fun atmosphere. I would definitely go back to Rosario. They also have a private dinner room as well as a function room in the back… maybe two function rooms? Not sure. Anyway, worth a visit back for sure! One more thing 4 of us ate for $ 160 that included a bottle of wine, 4 entrees and one of my friends had a salad before her entrée and a 20% tip for the waitress. $ 160? Such a DEAL!

I really wanted to like this place — Pace’s is such a great place and I hope the owner does well with this endeavor. But so many things missed the mark during our visit. It was a really nice night so we wanted to sit outside. Their patio is gorgeous and has a lovely view but within 5 minutes of sitting we were swarmed by 10 – 15 mosquitos. At about the same time we realized that the huge patio had zero heating lamps. We were graciously seated inside to avoid being eaten alive. Three other groups followed suit in being reseated. The food overall was fine. We places our appetizers first and about a half hour later they arrived. I had ordered soup — it arrived lukewarm, had it been hot it likely would have been good. I had their salmon filet which was good. My husbands pasta dish was delicious. However, after the appetizers it was one hour before our main entrees arrived. Maybe if the place was busy I could understand, but we were one of 5 tables in the entire place. This is unacceptable. So, in summary, food is fine but expect a long, long meal.

Disappointing at best. The steak was good, it was the only thing that was good. 7pm reservation, seated close to 8pm and we were told the delay was because they ran out of silverware… really? The party seated across from us(same size party) arrived 10 minutes later than we did, and were seated before us. This place is beyond pretentious. Zero ambiance, the poor staff are forced to wheel around cheesy trolleys like some sort of «Mr Rogers» reject train cars. The food is expensive for the sake of being expensive, not because of quality. Shameful, I was dying to love it(I’ve rarely met a steakhouse I didn’t like) and couldn’t. The polenta was generic, the Brussel sprouts were«meh», the truffled steak fries are a sliced potato that looks as though it died under a heat lamp, and the baked potato was the same. The salad was also overdressed, and my Jameson and Coke came in a broken glass. An establishment that charges premium prices should get the details right. This place only does the meat right. Too bad.
