I’ve been a client of Al Templehoff’s for over 5 years and I love seeing him every 8 weeks or so for my cut and color… He’s SO frickin funny! He’s what every hair dresser should be — talented, entertaining, and a good listener!
What prompted this review was that I just got married in April and he did such an amazing job on my hair… working with a very tricky headpiece and veil (combination). He also did my maid of honor/sister’s hair as well (she’s the only person I had in my bridal party, but he showed me lots of LARGE wedding parties that he’s also done).
I had my hair trial with him about 1 month before the wedding and we talked through pictures of what I liked and he provided lots of great ideas and feedback about why certain things wouldn’t work for my hair type — «that girls’ hair is much shorter… thinner… thicker. etc… than yours» and always would recommend how he might tweak it (if that’s what I really wanted).
Although he had LOTS of suggestions, he also listened to what I wanted in the end and what felt most «like me.» I knew that I wanted the little «snooky poof» incorporated into my updo and he made that work with all of the other elements — the veil, the headpiece, and what we chose to do for the back of my updo.
I would HIGHLY recommend booking Al for your wedding OR just for your cut and color. I’ve been just about every color, length, and style cut under the sun and I wouldn’t trust ANYONE else to do my hair.
Book early though, he’s really busy and I think he works Wed-​Sat…
