I was dying to come here because of people’s reviews of the homemade corned beef hash! Finally dragged my husband there and it was definitely from the can. Heart = broken. The rest of our breakfast was fine though: eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. All fine. Someone left me a message saying that it’s definitely homemade, maybe I went on an off day or something. Totally willing to give it another shot…

I ordered a hubcap pancake and it was AWFUL! The batter is gross and they are just too big to be cooked evenly and correctly. I used to LOVE the Tumble Inn. It’s an institution in Saugus and is owned by someone I went to high school with. But I was terribly disappointed this last time around. I’m giving them one more chance to redeem themselves. Home fries are great however it’s hard to screw up potatoes!

Honestly one of the most horrendously awful breakfasts Ive ever had in my life. The place is a tiny dump located in the crackhead and heroin junkie hotspot of saugus where out the window you can see breathtaking views of drug deals and driveby shootings. I ordered the hub cap which is a ludacrously big pancake for only 3 bucks. Thats awesome, or so I thought as when it came out and I took my first bite I was immediately disappointed. It tasted like there was a mixup somewhere in the kitchen and instead of pancake batter they poured out some concrete mix and an industrial bag of sand. Youre better off going to Mcdonalds and getting the pancakes for $ 2.50 because in a head to head battle of microwaved garbage Mcdonalds would come out on top. Gotta give props to the regulars who like coming here they must be brave souls with iron stomachs and non existent taste buds, or just ignorant.

Sat at the counter, just to the side of the cash register. Waitress went to register several times without acknowledging my existence, like I was invisible. Finally had to ask her for menu, then after a few more trips to register I had to just shout out my order as she was walking away from me. BTW, in between trips to register she was mostly sitting down looking at her phone. Party of three sat at counter next to me and were immediately served. In addition, guy next to me ordered same dish as me but got 3 slices French toast. I had been served just 2. And worst of all, the food was barely edible. Honestly. Greasy, microwaved. How do you screw up a fried egg? Paid my I0 bucks and left perfectly comfortable about not leaving a tip. Just an awful experience. I strongly recommend that you tumble out of this joint forever.

We have been coming here since moving to Saugus, nine years ago. The place has gone through several owners since then. What we miss the most is Deana, a great waitress, who we now visit at Iron Towne Diner. This place is what it is: a small, neighborhood eating spot. Only about 8tables and a long counter, so expect to wait during busy times on the weekends, The service is friendly, accommodating, but sketchy at times. They also offer Chelsea hot sauce, which is so much better than Franks or Tabasco. But the food… so good. One pancake is large enough for two or three people to share. They offer regular or wheat, and they’re happy to add anything you want to them. The omelettes have three eggs and loaded with fillings. They come with home fries and toast. The oatmeal is fresh, not packaged and, again, served with anything you want(milk, berries, banana, cinnamon). Their hash is one of the best on the North Shore the menu is small so there’s not a large selection of toast, muffins or bagels. Overall, you do get a good amount of good food for a reasonable price. I tend to get there between 6 – 6:30 in the morning and miss the crowds. We’re never rushed, coffee is refilled regularly, and they seem genuinely happy to see you. If you don’t mind an occasional argument about local politics from some of the regulars, you can’t go wrong for breakfast.

Since the new owners took over, I’ve stopped going there. The cook and most of the waitresses are gone and the food isn’t the same. I used to go here at least once a week. They knew what I liked and there were always familiar faces there. I suppose if you’ve never been there you don’t really have the old place to compare it to. They are open one evening a week(Friday) for what looks like mostly fish. I can’t say because I haven’t gone. I’m sad… that’s all. Miss you Dina!

What a shit show… First impression is everything and this place was a disappointment to the third degree! How do you fuck up breakfast? So anyway I called an hour before going because I wanted to make sure they had fresh mushrooms(I hate canned) and the girl that picked up says yes. So I’m excited and ready to try a new breakfast spot and everything then of course it’s cash only… I mean it’s 2014 if you can afford to buy a business then you can afford a credit card machine and fees. Anyway had to get some cash then went on my way to pick up my food. Got there and the people seem sweet hence the 2 star rating but they didn’t have salt and pepper packets so I was like whatever I’ll take the loss. So finally got home and ready to devour my omelette and OFCOURSETHEYFUCKEDUPMYORDER! An omelette with no home fries?! wtf that’s not even a recommended complete meal! And to top it off the mushrooms weren’t fresh yup canned :/UGHHH really?! Yea I’m never going back.

Wow. Amazing breakfast. Classic greasy spoon diner. Quick efficient service, but friendly waitresses. Highly recommend the Hash Benedict. Think eggs Benedict just with corned beef hash. In my opinion, doesn’t get much better than that. Very neighborhood feel to it. Nothing negative to say about this spot. Loved it. Will definitely take out of town visitors there for a late breakfast after a night out.

I used to frequent the tumble inn in the 1980s when I lived in Saugus and owned the hardware store next door. It was wonderful then too. Fran the waitress would come next door to tell me when liver and onions was the lunch special. She also crocheted a blanket when my first daughter was born. Miss that place

This place was everything I was hoping to find in a diner after my recent move from NYC to malden/Saugus area. I ordered eggs cooked«over medium» because I hate runny eggs and they were cooked spot on, which was amazing! Their homefries were equally as delicious and were seasoned with more spices than just salt and pepper. Be warned though, the pancakes are the size of large plates. My fiancé learned the hard way, but still polished off those bad boys sprinkled in powdered sugar: P Our server was SO nice and asked if we needed anything and brought everything over speedy quick. Coffee– they serve New England coffee which tastes great when it’s fresh. My was fresh enough to drink black! I was a happy girl. Top notch, in my humble opinion. My go-to diner from now on :)

What was once great is now gone. Pancakes that used to be amazing now are smaller and tasteless, get charged extra for everything, even things that normally every other place gives as part of the meal like toast and when a long hair was found between the pieces of toast the owner basically said, ‘oh’ and walked on. Then to top it off we had originally gotten charged for the side of toast!!! Really. We have since stopped going, not worth it any more.

Wow, excellent breakfast! The dining room is a wee small, but it’s worth a little wait. I got the Portuguese omelet which was quite large and fluffy and chock full of linguica, peppers onions and cheese. The potatoes were delicious and the toast was nice and buttery. I also had to try one of their«hub cap» pancakes, which, they will tell you to just order one. Why? Its huge. You will need to share it. Overall, for the amount of food we got, our bill was pretty cheap. I can’t wait to come here again, yum yum!

For what it is, they do a good job. It’s a small neighborhood greasy spoon with hot steam utensils and dish ware and an endless supply of coffee. I used to live across the street and the would walk over with my wife on the weekends. The food is good and the wait staff is very friendly. They have a separate menu then the regular on a white board with their specials, which is usually what I ordered off of. I usually got the broccoli & swiss or the spinach & feta omelette with home fries and toast and a order of their signature hub cap sized pancakes. Except for on Sundays when they have Belgian waffles. It’s a small place so waiting is common. It’s good but not great. Worth a shot if you’re in the area.

This place used to be great. The staff was good the kitchen staff was great and now since the new management took over there is nothing but heart ache and the need to run to another breakfast venue. The food is less to be desired not fresh and not cooked at all. The soup tasted like it was out of a can and thawed out muffins gross. I don’t see much in their future I can tell you me and my family will not be going there anytime soon they used to get excited to go to tumble when they came in from out of town but since the changes they have been warned to stay away!

Finally! A great meal on the last day of my weekend trip to MA and NH. The other meals I had on the two previous days were just fair to middling. This one was great and it was breakfast. I wanted to find a great place to eat just outside of(or on the outer edge) of Boston’s city limits. One that fit the following criteria: A place that was open early in the morning serving breakfast, not too far from the interstate, and offering an easy hop, skip and jump to the Boston /Logan airport. So this place fit the bill rather nicely. The breakfast platters here are fantastic. I ordered a three egg breakfast(fried over medium) with wheat toast, sausage, home fries and coffee. The waitresses here are friendly and attentive. They know their regulars by name. They are also very friendly /patient with strangers and first-timers.The cream, that goes in the coffee, is served in a metal serving cup(not plastic packets). I think this place is run or owned by Greeks or Italians. It has kind of an ethnic family owned business type feel to it. The kitchen is fast; I did not have to wait very long — even though this place is smallish and very popular /crowded in the morning. This place is way, way better than Waffle House or IHOP and yet competes in the same price point for breakfast. If I lived in this neighborhood or in this part of Boston, then I would probably eat breakfast here several times a week. If I ate here one or two more times, ordering different things off the menu, I could easily see giving this place 5 stars.
