It is rated as the Best Golf Course in the Milwaukee area but the thing is that is is 30 minutes north of Milwaukee… Either way, I have played out here for the last few years. It is a semi-private course meaning that there are members and it is open to the public. Check out the deals they have on their website for hot deal tee times, on Golf Now, or on Groupon since you can usually get rates about half of what they normally ask. It is the only Arnold Palmer course in the area and provides a truly unique, difficult, and beautiful course to play. I have been spoiled with calling this my home course for the last 4 years and whenever I play out here with people who have never played the course they are completely blown away. It is the best course in the area, shy of going up to Kohler. Treat yourself and book a hot deal tee time and play out here. They just had the Wisconsin Amateur event here so it is a tournament quality course. Sandy in the bar, she also tends bar the Farmstead in the winters, does an amazing job at making drinks up just for you or grabbing one of the 12 beers they have tap for you. The halfway house is only open some of the time so do check on that when you are making the turn. Oh yeah, the course is long and there are significant distances between holes so it isn’t really a walker friendly course. The club house is outdated and could use a renovation yet the course is top notch.

One of the best courses for the money I have ever played. I have currently played about 10 of the top 100 public courses in the country and while this course is not on that list, it is my humble opinion that it should be. I played this a day before I played the Irish Course at Whistling straights and the greens were comparable with a course that charged near 250 a round. The layout was also exceptional as no two holes were alike. The course had a ton of character and elevation change as well as some forced carries. From the tips the course was extremely challenging, especially with fairly penalizing rough — Played in one of the earlier tee times so the morning dew, while beautiful, also made the rough that much more treacherous. Played with a member who was as good as they get. I believe I played about 80 dollars for a Saturday morning tee time(Golf Now) which seemed like a bargain for the course. I try and stay partial in reviewing to the course but the experience was a 5⁄5 and the course conditions were a 5⁄5. Possibly because I was in one of the first groups on a beautiful morning or it may always be that pristine. Maybe on a Weekend afternoon the course gets a 4.5 but I can only comment on what I experienced. Also, the other ammenities, range which also was in great shape and the staff were great.

Very nice course, good layout. Well maintained and managed. The course is challenging enough for every skilled golfer.
