Gerbode Valley is one of 4 beautiful Valleys on the very southern tip of Marin: The others being Rodeo, Tennessee, and Muir. Each of these valleys has some magnificent hiking and scenery and each is unique in it’s own inimitable way. Gerbode Valley is the closest to San Fran from the Alexander exit on through the one way tunnel. It is also the least used… which some might find preferable. The hike that I like is a nice moderate hike up to the top of the mountain range via bobcat trail which starts immediately after crossing the little bridge. Once you are to the top take the marincielo route down to Tennessee valley to the Miwok stables. Back up via old spring trail and down Miwok trail to the Gerbode trail head. It is a nice two and a half hour hike of roughly 6.5 miles. Great places to take breaks, picnic, or just chill. Here is a website that goes further in detail… enjoy!
