Kathleen McMahon Fine Art gallery is a gem in the mission if you’re looking for artwork for your home or business. The gallery itself was cozy and tucked into the Mission District at the newly renovated Activespace building on Treat and 18th Street. The building seems to be an eclectic home for a collective of artists, musicians and other entrepreneurs to display their wares and to host their talents. The artwork at the gallery was very contemporary and high quality. The director whom I spoke with was very helpful, energetic and informative. The inventory of work at the gallery had a wide assortment of styles and techniques. I was particularly drawn to these encaustic paintings/assemblages by the artist, Daniella Woolf and these beautiful pit fired, clay pots by the artist, Judy Hummell. The stable of artists represented by the gallery has something for everyone. The gallery has work available from emerging to mid-career artists. The gallery also offered options for the more advanced collector as well as for those whom are purchasing art for the very first time. Its worth the peek!
