We decided to go on a deep sea fishing trip at the last minute even though we were unsure as neither of us had gone on one before. We are so glad we made the decision to go on an Amick’s Deep Sea fishing trip! Captain Steve and the deck hands did an awesome job! They were very professional and made sure that everyone had a great time. The boat was crowded with 16 people fishing but there were only a few mishaps with getting tangled and they took care of everything! I was the only female on the trip and they were very attentive and helpful when I needed it, which luckily wasn’t too much. Those guys definitely earn their money and are very hard working. Everyone came back with their limit of fish which is a successful trip in my mind. A shark was caught on our trip which made it that much more exciting. We can’t wait to go on another trip with Amick’s!

Well the weather was cold and windy. However our guide Brad was awesome! He found the fish and we met our limit! We wore the speckled trout out! Had a great time highly recommend Brad Stewarts Bait and Tackle

Sometimes«these things happen,» even if factually correct, simply isn’t a good enough excuse. Four months ago, I booked a six-person deep sea fishing trip with Amick’s. It was to be a pseudo-bachelor party, albeit one that began at 7am, a rather ungodly party hour. But it seemed like a fun way to spend a day with friends a few weeks before my wedding. But at 6pm the evening before the trip, after I’d already spent a significant amount of money on various food and beverages for the big day, I got a voice mail from Amick’s telling me that, because of a problem with the boat, the trip was cancelled. When I attempted to call them back, I got their voicemail. In the meantime, I attempted to find another charter fishing company with an opening, but on such short notice, everyone in Savannah was already long since booked. By the time Amick’s finally called me back some ninety minutes later, they explained, somewhat unapologetically, that these things happen and that they were as unhappy about the situation as I was. Highly doubtful. They also said they they hated when this happens. From the sounds of it, it’s a common occurrence for them. They said they’d mail me a check for my deposit and that was that. Like two ships — one of which was probably being towed and perhaps taking on water — passing in the night, Amick’s and I went our separate ways. But unbeknownst to them, my pseudo-bachelor party had been ruined, and for the rest of my days, I’ll be able to look back and remember how Amick’s Deep Sea Fishing and their decrepit fleet of boats royally screwed me over. So if you’re looking to book a charter fishing trip on or around Tybee Island, pick someone else. Because Amick’s is awful and completely unreliable.
