OMG «Does not accept food stamps» Italian Battalion was delicious. Fresh sliced meat. So yummy. Bread so soft. So yummy.

«I love bread! Oprah»… Guess what so do I! I could easily eat sandwiches 3 times a day. Well apparently Baldinos love bread as well, because they bake it fresh every single day. I walked in and there was a line 7 people deep, less than a minute later I was at the counter placing my order, and less than 5 minutes later I had my sandwich in hand. I went with a half roast beef, the half will easily feed a normal person. Some of the the tastiest roast beef around. The service was fast and friendly and the food delicious, worth a trip next time I’m in town.

Friendly staff, fast service, and great Italian Battalion! What more could a girl ask for? But seriously, their service was really fast. I was in and out in about 5 – 10 minutes. Prices were good for the great amount of food provided. Will be visiting more often!

Sandwiches were fine; service was so-so. The most unenthusiastic employees I’ve ever encountered. I’ve been going to Baldinos since the mid ‘80s when they first opened locations in Augusta, GA. This particular location looks like it hasn’t been renovated in 30 years, and the workers there act like they really don’t care. I suppose it’s neither here nor there when you’re just there to eat and run(why else would you eat here otherwise), but it would be nice to be greeted by people who at least smile once and a while.

One of my favorite sandwich spots to go to. Food is great, service is horrible. No acknowledgement from staff whatsoever. Never been anywhere where the entire staff is rude…

I love the tuna subs this sandwich shop makes. Used to visit the one on Skidaway road. But, oh well. Memories. This place’s tuna can give Subway’s a run for their money and on top of that they give you more of it. You eat a sub from here and you will be stuffed to capacity. IF I get better service when I return, I’ll add another star because it’s actually worth it for a no frills sandwich shop with tasty bread, tuna, and fresh toppings. Oh, and they have big and juicy pickles.

While working on Hunter Army Airfield asked some of the soldiers I worked with for recommendations for lunch. All of them recommended Baldino’s Giant Jersey Subs. On our last day, we headed there. Just as advertised– giant subs with freshly baked bread, lots of options, and reasonable prices. Ordered the American Army– ham and roast beef. It was a big ol’ thing that cost less than $ 7. The bread was definitely the star of the show– nice and fluffy with a great smell and taste. Will definitely repeat if my travels bring me back to Hunter AAF and Savannah, highly recommend!

Great Sandwich! I had the Baldinos special, only the half size, it was plenty to eat. If I’m ever back in Savannah I will visit again.

Great sandwich! The service was super fast and the ‘Italian Battalion’ was awesome. They have a good selection of sandwich options and fountain or bottled drinks.

Great tasting large sandwiches served by friendly staff. Never to long a line and good value. Usually comes with a lot of bread but it’s the best part so no complaints here. Cheesesteaks are a go to.

I like this place. I go here sometimes for a quick lunch. It’s tasty and satisfying if you’re just in the mood for a sub. Military discount and right next to base.

Was not impressed at all. The whole place seemed kind of dirty looking. For $ 16 we got a very underwhelming half turkey sub and chicken salad, plus chips and two drinks. Not worth the cost, in my opinion. On the bright side, the couple that runs the place were very nice.

I loved my sub. This place was very dirty today. I am sure I need a tetanus shot after enjoying my huge and delicious Philly but it may be worth it, great quick lunch. They have huge pickles as well…

I haven’t been to Baldino’s since I got out of the Army in 2006, but it was definitely my favorite place in Savannah and is one of my favorite sandwich shops in the country. They don’t offer anything fancy, just simple, fresh and delicious ingredients and big sandwiches. My favorites included the Italian Battalion, turkey breast and tuna. Baldino’s isn’t in the coolest part of town, but if you’re visiting Savannah, don’t let that stop you from going. There food is inexpensive and better than anything on River Street.
