We come to this shop every year to purchase our Christopher Radko ornament for a reason; they have a great selection to include ornaments you cant find anywhere else. The shop owner is very nice and helpful and the place has an eclectic atmosphere about it. It is a little«hidden» being on the end of River Street but if your exploring Savannah for the first time it is worth it.

This place really stinks, LITERALLY! I could crap on the floor and freshen the air. The odor of urine as I walked through the door made my eyes water as it burned my sinuses. There are actually cats roaming around inside the store like it’s their natural habitat. I love Christmas and really wanted to spend some time in this store but didn’t have my gas mask with me. This is not a joke. Had to leave after about 30 seconds. It was all I could take. Sorry store owners/cat people, but it is horrible.

Christmas on the river is a fitting name if the river that they are referring to is made up entirely of cat urine. The smell is overwhelming. I really enjoy Christmas stores and from the outside of the window it seems like a perfectly normal quaint little shop. The smell is so bad that I could only stand to be in there for about 45 seconds. Proceed at your own risk.

Christmas has come and gone — unless you pop into this little spot in a corner on the riverwalk in Savannah, that is! Speaking of which, why is it that almost every touristy-like place has a Christmas shop? I could almost see it if you want to pick up an ornament for that location — but just add an ornament section to the regular old souvenir stand and you’re done. With the expansion of «Christmas» to mean«throw any old crap on the tree», it’s really less and less important to a particular area, and it’s not like if I get a Spongebob ornament it will have come from Savannah(or anywhere else). But I digress. This particular shop is nice enough, it’s just tucked out of the way a bit, so you might have to do a bit of digging to find it. And we did actually get an ornament to commemorate our visit — but the shopkeeper had a tough time finding the appropriate box for it(we don’t care much about that, but some do, so if you’re one of them, you may want to be aware of it). Unlike some Christmas shop warehouses, this one is actually pretty small — you may want to consider that a blessing or a curse.
