As a collector of all things paper, I was excited to see a stationary store in Savannah to visit. Even had my FIL drop us off in front of the store. It was quaint and filled with calendars, custom stationary, gifts, everything. Just ignore the owner as she did with me and my family. Not even a greeting as I handed her the calendar I wanted to purchase, although I think I may have gotten a smile out of her when I gave her my card.

This lovely little gem is part of one of my new favorite Savannah shopping walks. Traipsing from One Fish Two Fish down to Custard, their window display caught my eye and dragged me in. Confession: I adore writing, and even in the digital age, I find that putting pen to paper is one of my favorite sensations. And I find that the handwritten note is a lost art and one that I personally try to breathe new life into whenever I can. This shop is wonderful for that. Beautiful sentiments on lovely cards, fun and/or tasteful and/or classic paper stock to have tucked into a desk drawer to pull out and send any sentiment to a loved one on. A great little shop to reinvigorate a disappearing art.

I’m in love with La Paperie. With both experiences I’ve had,(once planning a friend’s baby shower, and now my mother’s 65th soirée) I have found Debbie to be exceptionally helpful to me. Can’t wait until I have another opportunity to use La Paperie, the loveliest stationary store in town. :)

You didn’t think that writing paper and pens were all that essential in this digital age, did you now?. . but Ms. Lewis and her people can make the cash stack on their beautiful, ample, selection of writing goodies. Seriously though, Debbie Lewis and her staff are sweet people who know a wealth of information about the stationery business, wedding planning, and other aspects of genteel living. They have supplied me with stationery to write letters and thank-you notes to friends and, even more importantly and adroitly, have supplied me with Lamy pens – a line of awesome, futuristic, German fine pens. They didn’t have a couple Lamys I desired in stock but, don’t fret, they ordered these and the pens arrived promptly. Also, I once bought a planner here which I wanted to put aeronautical charts in(long story) and since these charts wouldn’t fit in it, I had to take it back and return it. .. Debbie asked not a single question but smiled and gave me a full refund. This is that type of place, a business that knows its entire reason for being revolves around the kinder and more refined customs of polite society and it acts accordingly. Savannah is the perfect town for a store like this, and this store is done nearly perfectly.
