We have been there numerous times, purchased 3 lilac bushes, 2 bittersweet and various other plants. It is a pleasure dealing with such down-to-earth folks. The grounds are beautiful and at the right time redolent with the sweet essence of Lilacs. This husband and wife team will go the extra mile including bringing your purchases right to your vehicle. They take special orders and their gift shop is very nicely decorated and their prices are more than fair ! This is a hidden gem for sure!

Nice people, lovely location yet a tad too casual as far as the business end of things goes. I bought a lilac, a rose of sharon and a forsythia there in Spring ’12. Well the rose of sharon was DOA the following Spring. It should be noted that I’m not a newbie gardener and go to great lengths to protect my fledgling plants. Most nurseries I know, including online nurseries, will replace the plant with a one year guarantee. Their website is definitely not up to date as they close on June 30th but no mention of that on the website. I drive about 40 minutes to get there only to find a «closed» sign with a phone number. I call the number and the proprietor answers informing me that they’ve been closed since June 30th. I state that the website didn’t indicate that and he responded with«I don’t know what my wife puts on the website?» HUH? Then he told me that he only guarantees lilacs(not written anywhere) and if I come back in the Fall he would sell me another Rose of Sharon. Umm, no thanks! I’ll stick with Stark Nurseries online. And the brick and mortars wonder why online companies are cleaning their clocks!
