A wonderful local museum. It has a great interactive scale model of the historic district of Savannah. There is the original school house room and rooms dedicated to local native Americans, architecture, and education.

Had free admission with purchase of Trolley Tour(Groupon). Interesting place to visit, exhibits were informative, well laid out. Docents were friendly. A lot of focus on Savannah architecture(which I liked). Would be great place to bring kids — lots of interactive exhibits and one of the rooms was an actual classroom. Be sure to pick up the rules for teachers from 1870s — quite amusing.

I had a groupon that gave me a trolley tour and a visit into Massie School House. I was expecting more of an overview of education in Savannah and GA instead of an overview of the entire city. You get information of the layout of the city, an average school house room and some other tidbits of the city. No guided tour while I was there however, which would have made this more beneficial. More of 3.5÷5, but I rounded up

I purchased this as part of a group w/a trolley tour. Wasn’t expecting much from it but was pleasantly surprised. A lot of great information and history. My boyfriend loved the architect section.

Tickets to this came as part of my tour pkg, I had no idea what this even was but something prompted me to get off that tour bus at this stop. This was Savannah’s first free public school and at the end of the Civil War it was used to educate newly-emancipated slaves… wow. They let you take pics and try on the costumes. It’s a self-guided(my kinda tour) and it’s interesting to see. They had separate courtyards for the boys and girls and they have an interactive exhibit on the transformation of architectural syles. It was a pleasant surprise.
