Moon River Kayak

I went to the Location off of Wilmington Island but had wanted to Kayak the area around Skidaway Island (much prettier, and much less developed) but that was for groups who needed a tour guide. Being an experienced Kayaker I didn’t care for a guide and went the Wilmington Island location instead. It was a slow Sunday and I made a request to get two kayaks instead of a Tandem (my GF hates riding Tandem w/​me) but I didn’t want to pay a full fee. Fortunately since it was slow, I was able to haggle the price with them, and they gave me a rate just smidge higher than the cost of the Tandem (which was greatly appreciated). The fact that they had new/​quality kayaks, worked with me on the price (you just have to ask, and hope its a slow day), were very friendly, and were relatively affordable is what lead me to give them 5 stars. I enjoyed the area around Wilmington Island but would highly recommend paying extra for a group/​tour and kayak the area near Skidaway Island (A lot more wild life there). In any case these guys are friendly, knowledgeable, and have good recommendations for where to go/​what to see. Its a place I would definitely come back too.

Great friendly and knowledgeable guides. Couldn’t have had a better experience kayaking. Bonus: got to see a pair of bottle nose dolphins playing in the river as we returned to the landing.

While spending a weekend in Savannah, my boyfriend and I decided to take a kayaking tour. After a friend recommended Moon River, we signed up for a sunset tour of Skidaway Narrows.
When we arrived, we found out we would be going with a group of 2 guides and 3 guides in training. What an amazing opportunity considering there were only 7 people renting. The tour started at 6pm and was very laid back and casual. We paddled out to a little island and had the opportunity to see dolphins, a shark that was feeding, and many different birds /​cranes. We took a short break on the island to look at the Fiddler Crabs and a bald eagles nest.
All of the guides were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. For the price of $ 50 a person, this tour was well worth it! Great quality and great service!
