Horrible room conditions. Security latch was snapped in half, as if by a police SWAT entry team. Foul smell in the room. Bathroom had only one towel, with a bar of soap placed on top. Just like you get when you arrive in prison. Felt very unsafe. Reception was very rude, mumbled about how the credit card was only used for holding the reservation and that I had to pay cash. No apologies, just a blank, threatening stare. Pulling around to our first floor room, we saw signs posted every 6 feet advising that«We are not responsible for any theft of personal property or vandalism of cars». I paraphrase this sign, but the general idea was that there was a good chance our vehicle would be broken into. The same three people were walking past our room every 5 minutes with pit bulls, maybe because there was a second floor room being used to deal drugs. My wife and I have over 20 years in New York City Emergency Services, and we don’t scare easily. But we also know when a scene is unsafe, and we checked out in 2 hours.
