I always try to give businesses multiple chances before rating them. I have been to Rody’s at least 5 times since I moved here from Atlanta. Each time I have been here i have been met with unfriendly staff. They have such a large selection of vinyl that the bins are crammed to max capacity making it impossible to actually flip through to see what they have. Most of the selection is in fair condition, but they rate it VG and charge you mint pricing. When I once asked if they could order me a specific album I was told they only order once a month, but they would try. The staff member took my name and number and committed to calling me once it came in. That was about 6 months ago; still no call. I used to spend $ 100 per week on vinyl at my local store in Atlanta because they appreciated my business and I appreciated their service and the atmosphere they created. Looks like I’ll be buying from Graveface and Barnes and Noble from now on.

Picked up some good albums. Prices are a little high but not outrageous. Organized. $ 1 bins. Friendly staff. Good music playing. We will be back

MEH… During a recent road trip from Raleigh to Key Largo, my fiancé and I took a 40 minute detour through the nasty traffic of the southern neighborhoods of Savannah to check this place out, mostly because they tout themselves online as «the largest selection of vinyl in the southeast.» Their brag, while probably accurate, is akin to Spinal Tap’s claim of being«one of the loudest bands in England.» Yes, it’s the largest selection in the area from what I can tell — tons and tons of product –and for locals it might be one of only two places around — but it’s a collection of mostly overpriced, mostly poor condition stuff. NM to them means«not completely unplayable» it seems. VG++ means«don’t bother checking.» $ 15 seems to be the median price and it’s for stuff most places would put in the $ 3 bin because of condition. Some gems, but be ready to pay above market price. Why? Because the owner is obviously looking to part money from fools rather than serving what could be a potentially large following of fellow music lovers. Maybe the guy in front of me who spent $ 300 on a pile got all the good stuff? Nah. He just seemed like a fool who wanted to impress the girl working there with a large purchase maybe? Graveface is a far cooler(and creepier) place with affordable gems in the new arrivals bin. Don’t bother checking this place out, unless you have an itch you just can’t scratch away. By the way. The girl who was working behind the counter was really nice and helpful. She gets ***** from me but, alas, she doesn’t have her own Unilocal page for a review.

I really should have taken a picture of this place but was too enthralled with the albums to really care. The place is small with a really tiny parking lot. Once inside there are a music intruments on the walls and lots of record players. They had a lot more albums than i thought they did with quite a few that were newer bands as well. There is also a side room(which I didn’t see until we were about to leave) that carries the blues, jazz, and country albums. The lady that rung us up was very knowlegable in letting us know when they have upcoming sales and overall care of my record player. The prices were pretty decent compared to what ive seen at other places around town so I was happy. I look forward to going back when they get more stuff in.
