I can’t comment on the food since I never got to try it, went Sunday at 5:30 with a party of 1 first the hostesses said singles eat at the bar well I did not want to seat there crammed in then I was told she could not sit a single at a table for 4 and that is what she had left so I left come this way 3 times a year will not try again.

When I saw the Sam Snead’s sign, it brought back memories of the great restaurant/hangout in Orlando from many years ago. It was decorated exactly like the Orlando location but that was the only similarity. Sadly this one just didn’t stack up. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday night. Two host/hostess behind the counter, no smile, no «hello» or «welcome» — just a curt«how many?» Wow. What happened to southern hospitality? The menu offers a nice variety of food with an emphasis on grill items. I had a steak that was grilled just right for medium rare but it tasted a little too grilled. There were some serious grill marks on the steak for a medium rare. No seasoning or even salt on this chunk of meat. My son had the rack of ribs that had a very thick bbq sauce and were very tasty. Friend had the night’s special prime rib that had way too much fat. Yes it’s a fatty piece of meat but some of that fat should have been trimmed off. Sides of baked potatoes, grilled asparagus(just 3 stalks) were good. Mango cheesecake was amazing! Molten cake was okay. Definitely AVOID the house specialty coconut cream pie. I got a dinner plate full of whipped cream. Four decorative dollops of whipped cream surrounding a big pile of whipped cream. Underneath all that mess was a little smidgen of pie with a stale crust. The pie was less than an inch tall. I think they must have ran out and tried to compensate with all that whipped cream. It was a serious let-down and a waste of $ 7. Waiter didn’t seem too empathetic about it either — just«oh well.» The noise level was quiet loud. Toilet seat was loose. Water all over the floor and counter. It’s a shame because this place has so much potential. Sam would be disappointed in this place.

On the outside, baby back ribs tasted only like black pepper, and the inside had no flavor at all. Like they had been baked forever. The slaw was the worst I had ever eaten.(Wife agreed) Any more twang and I would say the mayo had gone bad. My wife’s ribeye was mediocre at best and could barely be cut with either of our steak knives because of the tough stringy fat. The service was really good, but the food… not so much. Wouldn’t go back, especially since I noticed on the way out that it is a gun free zone.

Great location that overlooks a lake and golf course made it very relaxing. Food was good but not as good for what they charge. Staff and service definitely gets 5 stars, but overall 3 stars for the price of the food for it being just OK.

Very nice place & food very good. I had chicken satay & oak grilled veggies. Hubby had prime rib. Chicken was moist & great flavor & veggies so good. Hubby was very happy with his meal great cook on prime rib & mashed potatoes. Great food will visit again.

I was looking for something other than the Hotel restaurant. What a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is like a golf country club The service was amazing, the servers are extremely nice and the food was delicious. In particular my server(Kareta) was extremely sweet and after a long day of driving is exactly the person you want to experience at dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Atmosphere was nice, good wine selection, steak was less than flavorful. Ordered the filet and crab cake. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, but lacking in that certain something. Don’t think the chef knows that a generous pat of butter and salt at the finish would go a long way to improve the flavor. Crab cake was surprisingly more crab than cake. But served with a «Remoulade» that was VERY Thousand Island dressing like. Pickle relish in a Remoulade? May go back but doubtful I’ll order steak again.

Just wanted to give a heads up to James who waited on our large party tonight. As always, the food was fresh, hot and high quality. James did a superb job in all aspects of our dining experience. I can honestly say with confidence that the other 18 people in my party would agree. He helped me decide between the grouper and scallops. I made the right choice in the scallops but I was fortunate to finish my boss’s grouper so I got the best of both worlds. What a great night had by all.

There are a ton of hotel surrounding this place. No wonder it gets SOMANY reviews. Functionally the same chain-restuarnt feel of an Applebees/Outback/Cheddars/Chilis/TGIFFridays I would almost give it a 3.5 stars for the server, Bridgette, who was engaging and perceptive that we were three thirsty dudes on the start of long business week and in need of libations. Our server, a perky Jersey-girl-moved-down-south, was helpful in explaining the menu and accommodating our requests. After the requisite opening cocktail, we were ready to get down to the meat of the matter(pun-intended) so we both ordered ribeye steaks, with house salads to start and loaded baked potatoes to accompany, Part of the reason for the«average» review is that my steak was overcooked(not medium-rare as requested) and it was much fattier than my co-workers. I didn’t complain to Bridgette, as it was ok enough to eat and not bother her. Overall, I think this is the best place in the airport hotel area. Savannah has so many other places, it was worth it to drive downtown for our 2nd night.

Really great place for lunch or dinner in savannah. Fun, roomy place with friendly service. Start with the grilled tuna app with great grill flavors. Then try one of the many flatbreads — esp the steak and mushroom. And then try the grilled salmon that again come thru with grilled flavors. We went there for lunch and likely had the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. Def worth trying.

The quality of the food does not justify the price. I think they charge the prices they do because there is no competition within walking distance. They do not cook the steak here like back home. A medium steak is not hard and brown(insert dick joke here). I do have to admit if you sit at the bar alone and drink like a true alcoholic they make your drink super stiff(insert second dick joke here). Head to savannah proper for real cuisine.

We were staying at the Hyatt place next door and the smell taunted us until we gave in and had dinner. A little more upscale looking and feeling than what we are used to. Our waitress Lisa was fantastic! Friendly and made us feel special. We ordered steak flatbread, best $ 14 I’ve spent on an entrée maybe ever. Onions, red peppers mushrooms and chunks of filet on a piece of toasted flatbread, a harmony of flavors. I really didn’t think I was hungry, but i finished all it. I’m stuffed but it was delicious!

Ok so this is the best restaurant to me in Pooler. Steaks are just as good as Ruth’s Chris, just not all the butter. Ribeye was full of flavor as was the filet my wife had. The oak grill really is a unique flavor. I wish I could buy their steaks raw too because I can’t find prime beef very often. Service was great too so overall I love this place. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for and I’ll gladly pay.

Food was a 3 but one star removed for staff. Food & décor reminds me of what you can expect at any number of American chain restaurants… It just is what it is, and aims to please most palates with a variety of solid, basic crowd-pleasers. Certainly not a date night restaurant or a gourmet destination, but pickings are quite slim on that front in Pooler. For a quick business dinner with a co-worker close to our hotel, the food was acceptable. So, with that said, I removed one star for staff. The waitress was efficient, and while not a «chatter», she hit all of her marks and timing was good. She made a strange comment that our non-alcoholic beverage order was«to start» and seemed annoyed(was that an eye roll???) that we weren’t plumping the tab with booze, but my co-worker has been sober for five years and when she walked away he made a comment about her rude insinuation. I felt badly for him that she was implying we needed to order alcohol. I have never had a waitress make a comment about a non-alcoholic drink order in any other restaurant, ever. Just so inappropriate! My other issue was with the hostess stand. When we entered, there were four people behind the hostess desk, none of whom said anything to us. My coworker said hello quite loudly and jovially as we walked in and was ignored. If I can paint the picture, it’s five feet from the front door to the hostess stand and it was two of us and four of them in this quiet entry alcove. … ??? Defies explanation, but the word rude again comes to mind. My coworker said hello again, this time with an edge, as we literally stood at the hostess stand being ignored, and was finally acknowledged. We were told it would be a 10 – 15 minute wait. I looked at the bare alcove, the empty wait area, and peered around to the bar where a table of patrons were already eating… ??? No patrons walked in the door during our entire wait time and the restaurant seemed far from slammed with diners. Meanwhile, the hostess stand huddle group had plenty of time to chit chat and socialize. Hmmm… Bottom line: Hostesses are supposed to host the guest… So, generally a word of welcome offered promptly seems like a minimum job expectation. And also– don’t tell me that you can’t seat me and bring me a menu if there are four of you with nothing better to do gossiping while I wait. Step up and help out, if needed, but frankly the restaurant was swarming with a ton of employees(to the point of feeling overstaffed for the number of tables with diners) and was not busy enough to justify not seating us immediately. I travel constantly and eat out all of the time, and I know the drill at a truly busy restaurant. The group of very young people front of house seemed to lack a sense of urgency and basic service skills. I have never seen anything like it in a professional, established restaurant and if I had been with my husband instead of a co-worker, we would have left rather than wait, but maybe that is what they were hoping for? I will not be back, but I hope this account of our experience helps you to decide if you would like to spend your money here.

Gave Sam’s another try last night. My wife and I shared a chopped salad and had burgers. The salad was NOT chopped and had little taste. The greens were shredded and were large enough to require our cutting them with a knife. Also, too many croutons. The burgers were cooked to our order and promptly served. Mine came with Luke warm French fries. My wife had Cole slaw which we both thought had a peculiar taste which we didn’t enjoy. The plus is that it was a reasonable walk from our hotel which served us well since we had just spent a day in the car I don’t think we’ll be back. Our waitress was Mary, a rather engaging lady who is a credit to the restaurant.

My husband and I came here for lunch. He had the caddy melt burguer and I had the chicken marsala. The food was pretty good. My husband said the hamburger was really good but not great. The marsala sauce was very very tasty but without it the food tasted a bit bland. So needless to say I wanted more sauce on my plate. Overall, it was ok. I think the prices could be a bit lower to match the food. Service was great. She even offered us bread which is only served per request. Now, the bread was without a doubt the best thing I ate! I would come just to eat the bread. I would give it a 3 ½ stars if I could because of the bread.

I’d give this experience more stars but it doesn’t deserve it. I was in here with my parents last night who come here all the time. I have a feeling it will be the last. The portions have shrunk and food was delivered to our table cold and waaaay too salty. When we brought these complaints up to the manager and told her of the cold food she had the audacity to dispute us. After pulling teeth to get something taken off the bill we found out from the waiter the management had shifted about three months ago. All in all avoid this place if you can. The wait staff was very pleasant but it’s unfortunate they have to work under a moronic manager who is clearly out of touch with customer’s needs. Apparently the customer is not always right but this manager is. These new owners are obviously trying to pinch pennies and do not care about the diners experience. Sam Snead would be pissed to have his name attached to this place.

At arrival hostess was unavailable and took a moment to return. When came back was not the most cordial. Food was reasonable but lacked flavor, specially the steak. Drinks were good an barman made an effort to google a drink not available at their menu. I would add another ½ star if available for him. Reasonable priced.

This place was okay the first time I visited. I went during happy hour, and took a look at the menu while I drank a couple beers. The bartenders were in between shifts, so I waited a few minutes to get a refill while they are their McDonalds sundae. This restaurant is like an upscale bar. You pay a little more for everything, but you weed out some trash. The food portions were decent, although the prices were on the high side. Not a bad place for a couple beers after a long, hot day on the golf course. On a side note, if you are going to carry 25 beers on tap of craft beer, make sure you actually have beer in stock and the right taps are on the handle. I’m not picky about the beer I drink, but I like to drink what I order.

We have passed this place many times and decided yesterday evening to give it a try. My husband had the Filet Mignon Combination. He chose the Shrimp Savannah to go with his steak. He also ordered a caesar salad and had mashed potatoes. He cleaned his plate. I asked him how was his steak and he said perfect. I asked him if I could taste the shrimp and they were fantastic. Now here the shrimp is how fresh ones should taste sweet and no fishy smell. I had the Mahi Mahi it comes with yellow rice and spinach. Of course as usual I could just order a plate of spinach it was so good and be a happy camper. The fish was really good. The cilantro lime butter really gave it more flavor. I was surprised since I don’t like cilantro. However, on this fish; great. I had a garden salad with raspberry vinaigrette delicious. Putting this place in my date book for the upcoming Anniversary.
