Quality and good selection. Staff was exceptional — friendly and knowledgeable. This place is a real gem. Their in-house bread pudding is one the best I’ve had.

They had a stand at the Bluffview Mayfest. Excellent sausage. Good coarse grind and lots of flavor.

Loved everything about this butcher and provisions store. Not only do they have a huge selection of different cuts of meats, they also had a hot bar and sandwich of the day so that you could leave with a ready to eat meal.

We stayed at a rental walking distance to this place and since we like to cook our own food this place was a god sent! On the first day we talked to another grocery store close to Forsyth park called Brighter Day which was a total disappointment and had to drive to whole foods but I am glad that we passed by this place. Very knowledgeable staff, super friendly, high quality meat and excellent deli shop. They also have a library of cooking books that they will let you use it. The store is eloquently designed and is very inviting. I wish they had one store in CA where I live!

My husband and I are spending two weeks in Savannah and mostly cook dinners in the house we are renting. We have tried the pork chops, a whole chicken, chicken breast and ground chuck. The meat/fowl from this butcher outshines any we have tried before. Would love to learn where the meat/fowl is sourced. You will not go wrong at this butchers! Absolutely amazing and natural tasting proteins. The staff is helpful, but not at all pushy.

Amazing store! I came in yesterday with a few dollars for lemons and I was quite surprised on the variety of goods. I had to come back today, but this time with my credit card. A well thought out store with a super friendly staff. I’m an instant fan!

All Hail Meat Lovers! When I walked in and saw the meat I thought Heaven I’m in Heaven!!. The meat looked gorgeous. The short ribs had very little fat. All the beef in fact seemed A1. They have all types of Wines and Champagne. Plus I found the Noble Vanilla Syrup I had been hunting for and twisted my Husband’s arm to get it for me. We found our Christmas Ham. A small one just enough for two. I must go back on my own when I am not with the«Boss» and shop.

Smith Brother’s is a wonderful Savannah staple. We love to walk here, try the different wines they are sampling, pick up a few, grab their sandwich of the day, some cheese and crackers, and have a fantastic picnic lunch in one of the squares! They have an INCREDIBLE wine selection, ranging from $ 10 red blends to $ 80 pinot noir from France. Seriously, you have to stop in at least to see how gorgeous it is! Oh, and the meats are to die for too!

I was a big fan of Smith Bros when they were located in the Village. I was there almost daily to get something for lunch from their prepared meals, it was like having a personal chef prepare something different for me each day. The food was really good and their were many options to choose from. Their new location downtown is really nice and spacious with a different layout. More of a gourmet shop feel. The concept of the deli has changed a bit also, not as many options, not pre-packaged in individual servings, but what they offer is still flavorful. The fried chicken is the bomb! The real star though is the butcher shop area. Their fresh meats have always been their claim to fame and remains to be the case. I got some all beef South African sausage there that was amazing. The butchers are very helpful with recommendations and always pleasant and fun to chat with. The store seems to have more events now, wine tastings, etc. Always fun to sample and shop so I’m not mad at ‘em.

I bought a hanger steak here at the suggestion of the butcher and… oh… my… it was(and I’m not exaggerating when I say this)… it was the best steak I’ve ever made myself. In contrast, a week later I bought a loin steak at the local supermarket and, while preparing it exactly the same way, it tasted like butter grilled cardboard in comparison. The folks at Smith Brothers now what they’re doing! They offer amazing cuts of meat at a reasonable price for the quality. They’re extremely knowledgeable about what they do and they are keen to share their passion and skills with the customer. Even the young woman at the register was boning up on her butcher knowledge. I will most certainly be back here again.

She was super knowledgeable and friendly and offered us samples of each cheese and meat we thought about buying. The shop is beautifully decorated, so clean and inviting. I can’t wait to go back!

Brand new market in downtown Savannah. Great selection of meats and specialty items. They also have separate rooms set aside for cooking demonstrations and gatherings. Extremely friendly staff who will always make you feel at home.

My wife and I live in the neighborhood, and we are here 3 – 4 times a week. The prices(for most things) are very comparable to Kroger or Publix. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. And, they have lots of parking. Everyone in Savannah needs to check it out!

What a delight! After moving to lovely Savannah last year, we are quite happy except to find the food scene lacking and I was not inclined to cook due of shortage of fresh ingredients. My husband and I are so thrilled to have this new store in downtown. The meat and seafood are first class and I’m inspired to cook again!!! The deli is stocked with lovely cheese, dry meat and prepared foods. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I feel like stepping into a small town with great attention and personal service. Also love the environment with beautiful design and layout– It’s a total great shopping experience. What more, we are supporting a local small business. I will be back for more. I would suggest the 4⁄10 commentator go back, as it was their first week of opening. Five full stars.

I was excited to have a real butcher shop in the downtown area. I stopped by yesterday and asked them to tell me about their meat. They looked at me like I had 12 heads. I said, is there something special about it? Where is it from? How are the cattle raised? The«butcher» could not tell me much about it except for it was from the West Coast. I asked if it was one of those cow factories where they don’t get to go outside, he said he probably, thought so as it was a very large company. He said all the meet was choice. I asked why it was any different than buying meet at Kroger besides the convenience of downtown, and there was no answer. I asked if the chicken which was also very expensive was anything special. He said it was all Claxton chicken. So no difference there. I then overheard someone asking if they made the prepared foods there and they said no some woman named Edie who does things like that for companies made it. I left without buying anything. The prices are cheaper at fresh market, and at least they know about their product. It was all very surreal. I mean really, it’s called the butcher shop!
