It should be known after seeing earlier reviews, that this place is now being ran by different people. The two ladies in there are so nice and the food tastes great these days! Give these guys another chance, its really good food for a great price.

Another fine example of trashy, mismanaged Garden City Restaurants that must only be open because it is a front for some other business. I went in here once without my wife and boy am I glad. The Waitress bounced back in forth between smoke breaks and dishwasher guy. The guy came to my table with a drink in his hand chewing on ice to wait on me. I was just simply scared, but my immune system must have been good that day with the Tuna Roll. Scurvy Mop bucket on side of Restaurant never leaves. Inside looks like a Haunted House. Whole look of place just makes me shudder and its a half mile from my house. Rather risk sushi and pay appropriately for fresh or Yutaka may take Yutaka to the bathroom all night.

On our drive down to Florida, we stopped here for dinner. As avid fans of Japanese food, we weren’t disappointed. The place is small with about 15 tables. Quasi Japanese décor. The sushi was as good as places we’ve been to in New York and is the best part of the dinner. I had the Shrimp which was good although not great. My husband wasn’t impressed with his fried rice but liked thee scallops. Prices were really reasonable.

Love it! Hubby and I are regulars. Prices are great for sushi. Atmosphere is low key for everyday people.

Oh my suck! This place stinks. Poor service is where they lose all the stars. The kids and I went here for lunch today because we all wanted noodles. It was an early Sunday afternoon and we were the only table in there. I ordered water for all of us and being that my kids are 4 and 2, theirs came in a foam cup. But the lids were only half way on. Really? Do I have to do your job? Servers get paid for giving good service and I shouldn’t have to do anything when I am dining at any restaurant. I placed the lids on correctly and almost immediately my daughter tips her cup over. I should have just left it so the waiter could clean it up. I then ordered a shrimp yaki soba for the kids to share and a ramen for myself. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Only problem was, when I bit into the imitation crab in my ramen, it was frozen. Heck, I didn’t say anything this time because my eyes were still half blinded from swimming earlier and I didn’t want to cause any more trouble for myself that moment than needed. The yaki soba was over oily and the ramen was sub par at best after the frozen crab, I had to wave my server… a server rather… down just to ask for togarashi. I had to drink my water sparingly because I knew I was in no position to get a refill despite being the only table in there. And who would have guessed it, I never got a refill. I had to drink out of my kid’s cup. FAIL waiter!!!
Service sucked for being the only table in there. You should be excited to even get a customer so that you can make a tip you moron! It was the first time I tipped under 20% in a loooooong time. It only cost us $ 20 for two meals but the lunch sucked. Next time, I’m sticking to my $ 1 pack of ramen and I’ll cook my own damn soba. Thanks Yutaka for making me love not to eat out for noodles! You guys fail, close those doors on days that you can’t deliver anything below great service.

This little place is nowhere near either the beaten tourist track or a list of best Japanese restaurants ever. It is, however, a good place to eat if you’ve been living in Garden City, just outside Savannah for, say, 6 years, without a bite of good, down-home Japanese food like dad used to make, unless you’ve made it yourself — and there is nowhere in Savannah to get seaweed or daikon, so you haven’t made it yourself. This is also a good place to teach your children how to use chopsticks, introduce them to the goodness of tempura and sukiyaki, and get yourself recognized by the very friendly staff after only one visit. This place made the last years of my exile a little more bearable, and I will always be grateful for that. That, and the tempura.
