I’ve been going here for a while and I like it. The owner doesn’t speak English very well so when he asks me questions about my nails, I’m always at a loss about what to say (and I feel really rude for not being able to understand him) but he seems to know what he’s doing because my nails always turn out great when he does them. Justin and Sean are great too. I kind of try to avoid the owner’s wife because even though she’s a nice woman, she’s always pretty rough on my fingers and cuticles (I’m sensitive, sorry!). The thing I like most about this place is that, even though they’re not perfect, they don’t get mad at me for micro-managing the appointment and sometimes just taking the file and filing my own nails the way I want them to look. I know that’s kinda rude but I’m very particular and they don’t seem to mind but I appreciate it.

Every time I come in here I have horrible service. When I actually get serviced they do a great job (the end result) it’s while I’m being serviced that isn’t so great! The last time I came in to get my eyebrows done I was told that they would take me in a few minutes and to sit down. After about 5 – 10 minutes another women came up to me and asked me what I wanted I said oh my eyebrows and she told me to come back later and that they couldn’t take me. They were not that busy and there were employees just sitting around talking and playing on there phones. I told her okay and I haven’t been back since. I found a nice little gem down the street !

Nice enough place. They were quick to see me. I got the gel mail polish and it looked great. I will say they thinned out my nailed too much and after a day I noticed bubbles in all my nails. I didn’t leave them on very long and probably wouldn’t get gel nails there again.

After coming here for many consecutive months, I am afraid I must seek out another salon. The gentleman who owns the salon does great OPI no chip french manicures. However, I have too often been a victim of overzealous use of the nipper tools and I drew the line on my last visit, when my toe began to bleed when nail tech Kim cut my toe. Later, during the filing phase of my no-chip manicure, the female nail tech drew blood from my finger. Can’t tolerate that. The staff members are all very nice and accommodating, but the aggressive cuticle cutting needs to be turned down quite a few watts.

I’m an old fat guy and cannot care for my feet properly without help. Yesterday (10 Aug 2011) was the first time at Savoy Star Nails. I knew it was U$ 23, but did not count on the technician specifically pointing out the «tip» line of the ticket. To me, tips are for superior service above and beyond the call of duty. This service was barely adequate. Also she left a tag of nail/skin which I found this morning hanging from my little toe. Considering what I have had to do in my life for U$ 25, this 15 minute adventure will not be repeated.

Got my eyebrows waxed and they did an ok job, there are still some hairs I will have to go pluck myself but she did leave my natural shape.
