I used to be a regular to this place when I lived in the area. I have since moved away but the real thing that pulls me back here is the service. The food is tasty but it’s nothing over the top spectacular. When you walk into Nocchis it’s like coming home. You can sit and read the paper or chat with anyone sitting at the counter. It’s really a truly friendly place. Great for kids. Always good for a quick lunch. Like I said, the food is not the most amazing thing ever but I really go there for their staffs friendly smiles and enjoying the chatter of the townspeople muttering about the news of the week.

Extremely overrated — especially their«Double Cheese Whammy» sandwich, which is supposedly their featured item.

One of my favorites from my hometown. I stopped in over Christmas break and had one of the things I miss the most — the Double Cheese Whammie. It’s a cheeseburger sub with lettuce, tomato, and an oil dressing that tastes as good as I remember. It could be all nostalgia. I don’t know many people who swoon over the Double Cheese Whammie like I do, and those I’ve introduced it to have liked it but haven’t shaken me and been like, «BRETYOU’VECHANGEDMYLIFE.» But it’s been over 10 years since high school and it still holds up as my favorite hoagie anywhere. Also, the atmosphere is casual, the service was incredibly friendly, and the food was inexpensive. I hear the pizza is good too, but I can never order anything besides a Double Cheese Whammie.
