Twilight Riverboat Cruise

We just went on the Twilight Cruise, it was very relaxing and extremely organized. I would not have changed 1 thing! The food was plentiful and delicious. And yes, there isn’t WiFi or TV but that wasn’t an issue for us. Senior citizens? Yes, plenty of the nicest people to hold a conversation with. We had a wonderful time.

We took the 2 day cruise for our summer’s last hurrah! My son (who is 14) and I had the most fantastic adventure on this cruise. The staff is excellent tending to your every need. The Captain is fun, energetic, and oh so knowledgeable of the Mississippi River! We had three square meals and two snacks our first day and two meals and one snack our second day while on the boat. Breakfast the second day was included with our room at the Grand Harbor in Dubuque, Iowa. We visited the National River Museum which had the Titanic exhibit. Our ticket was included and included the exhibit which normally costs extra. We saw so many different birds and even got to feed the gulls crackers on our way back to Le Claire. Something I have not done since I was a child. The food was very good! Our farewell meal was extremely special, white table cloths and all. For those who wish to keep in touch with the outside world via internet the boat has WiFi but may be spotty on the river depending on your location. Just like your cell phone may be. The town of Le Claire, Iowa is very cool. There are things to do and places to see. We stayed an extra night to visit in the town the next day. We highly recommend Twilight Riverboat Cruise. Just know there is no TV or sports bar on board (there is a bar maned by Bob who makes a mean Bloody Mary). There is live entertainment each day, family board games, and lots and lots of nature sightseeing with fantastic narration by the Captain. If you wish to bring young kids be prepared to spend time and interact with them as a family as you are on the boat for many hours with no electronic babysitters. If you are looking for a relaxing two days to just sit and take in nature’s beauty this is for you!

It was nice and the people are friendly. If you are looking to relax and learn facts about the Mississippi, it’s the trip for you. I’m glad I went. If I had it to over again I would go on the one day cruise.
Just FYI to be prepared:
The WiFi doesn’t work onboard.
There may be major delays due to locke sharing along river.
Only one bathroom on first deck.
Only one bar on top (3^rd) deck with no table service.
No Television to watch sports.
BRING SOMETHING TO READ.
Almost all passengers are Senior Citizens.
