I have been taking my dogs to Caledon Kennels for about 10 years. I am picky about where I leave my dogs. When I moved out to this area I checked out several kennels before I had to board. Some of the kennels did not want me to look at their runs because they were disgustingly dirty. Barb may not have a super fancy facility but it is always clean and well taken care of. Barb really takes care of the dogs, and my dogs have always come out of her kennels happy and not stressed. I have had some challenging dogs for Barb to take care of over the years, but she understands high drive working dogs. Barb was not able to watch one of my dogs a few months ago due to an out of town engagement, so I boarded one of my dogs at the fancy Pet Stay Hotel in Portland. I paid a premium price and my dog came out of their kennel emaciated. He was a lean working dog and apparently he played a lot, but they should have fed him more or called me to tell me he was losing weight. Anyone looking at this dog should have been able to see there was a problem. He looked like a skeleton when I got him back. And all they said was he played a lot with the other dogs. Anyway, I should do a Unilocal review for Pet Stay(Pet Stay away). I don’t have to worry about any of that sort of thing with Barb. Caledon Kennels is number one in my book!
