From the response from BO Concept HQ’s email, the gist I am getting is that BO Concepts does not doesn’t accept accountability for making recommendations. They use words like ‘obviously ’ or ‘should ” is meaningless and a copout. It should have been explained before to the customer. before the sale and not afterwards. When the girlfriend chose a white shade but the boyfriend expressed concerns about being able to keep it clean, but if the salesman keeps re-assuring the boyfriend that cleaning is not a problem, because of the ‘special fabric’., essentially removing him as an obstacle. Words like obviously or should have known then becomes insulting to the customer after we find out that keeping it clean was an issue. The result is you have 2 very unhappy customers. Almost every major piece of furniture that we purchased, was either delivered damaged, installed misaligned, defected or poorly designed for real world use. The doors on the TV stand was misaligned, the dining room table base was damaged, the legs on the sofa was of different size, the hydraulic bed takes 2 people to lift up, the coffe table hing snapped. in every case, there was an ‘excuse’. one problem can be ‘excused’ but 5 problem is problematic. The sofa choice is the final insult. We were accused of not vacuuming the sofa. We do keep the sofa vacuumed. I personally wipe it down once a week. I was concerned about the color and the effort needed to ‘keep’ it clean, BEFORE I was persuaded to purchased it. I was assured that all that was needed was to wipe it down once a week. I feel that BO Concept does not stand behind their products nor their words. BO Concepts will say anything to make a sale and not stand behind their product, prefering to say that ‘it’s on them to maintain and guard for their sofa.’ in an email response. Can you imagine any reputable company saying that? BO Concept is essentially ‘over priced’ IKEA quality furniture.
