Julius Michaels is chic, but lacks class. Due to a family emergency I had to call and reschedule my hair appointment. The staff said that she’ll be charging me full amount for not canceling 24 hours prior. I said«it is called emergency for a reason. Would you please consider it for this time?». Then she barked and said: I will make a note on your account, and rescheduled it for me. Staffs are rude, inconsiderate, and to top it off, their service is abysmal. Business sometime forget that we pay them for their SERVICE. Salon Maffei is much better.

Had my hair done here not to long ago. I sat and waited a really long time. Pretty busy like they don’t care about you unless they know you have a ton of money. Julius did my hair and was totally uninterested in anything I had to say. I went in for a color correction and told me what I wanted couldn’t be done… Needless to say I spent almost 400 dollars on a single process color a glaze and two highlights on the side of my head… A week later my hair was extremely ugly and brassy… Went to a new salon got what he said couldn’t be done and even better than anything I feel he can do! Total rip off don’t waste your money here! The only positive I can say is his assistant was lovely really sweet young lady. I hope she learns well and opens her own salon since she was the one doing everything. PS I was there from 10 am until 1:30!!! Just for a simple color change. And left with a wet head for over $ 400! Go somewhere else! I hate being so negative but it really was not worth any penny I spent!

This is the first time I’ve been so unhappy with a place that I’ve taken the time to write a review. I recently had a partial head of highlights with Julius himself, and he did an absolutely horrific job. I was specific about what I wanted and did NOT want– even brought multiple pictures. What I got was half a head of chunky, bleach blonde highlights in my naturally auburn hair that resembled Lindsay Lohan circa Parent Trap. To top it off, he didn’t even stick around long enough to check on the color processing or to see what the color looked like at the end. Didn’t even care enough to see what kind of disaster he had caused on my head. I had to go to another salon two days later to have the whole thing fixed. Such a nightmare.

I’m not sure why there are a couple negative reviews on here, my experience was phenomenal. I just moved to Westchester from Phoenix, AZ and have gone to the same stylist in Scottsdale, AZ for over 6 years. I am very particular about my hair and looking professional is a must. Needless to say, it was nerve-wrecking to move across the country and have to find a new stylist. I found the Julias Michael Salon via the Westchester Magazine listed as a top salon. The article mentioned Jennifer, a precision cutter. I scheduled an appointment and brought along instructions from my stylist in Arizona(yup, I’m that crazy about my hair!). Everyone was kind, smiling and I did not feel out of place in the slightest. The space is small, but they only do hair — so it works. Jennifer was personable, skilled, and let me provide feedback(because after all, how is she supposed to know if I like it or not if I am not vocal?). I am extremely satisfied with the experience and the cut and touch-up that she provided. Not to mention, I pay less now than I did in Arizona! I will be back every 3 – 4 weeks from here on out and I suggest anyone on the fence with visiting this salon does the same. They even have coffee, tea and I think I spotted some cookies upon entry!

the salon is not great, took my daughter for a haircut, the stylist messed up on the cut, had to take her somewhere else. other salons are better,.

They are amazing. Great hair cuts and great color. Ver laid back though I have seen BRAVO«stars» there. I have been to some very major salons in New York City and this rivals them. I really considered whether to write this review because it’s already difficult to get appointments!

The salon atmosphere reminds me of a high school gossip party. The only reason I go is because I love my hair stylists, but lately my haircuts and color has been going down hill. I am thinking of changing to a new salon. I agree with the other review very noisy and rude.

A cliché of the ‘chic’ suburban salon. Noisy and rude. Quality of cut – I had two here– abysmal. And overpriced – $ 45 for a twelve minute cut– not good. Not fun or chic.
