Moshin Malik

I trust him with my elementary school-​aged son who has fair skin and some moles we’re watching. My kid is at ease wtih Dr. Malik and when the doctor sees something troubling, he documents it and has even asked a colleague for their opinion on the spot. How careful is that! Overall, great doctor.

«Dr» Malik is the kind of physician who will give you as little of his time as he can get away with.
I went to him after getting bitten by a tick. This is nothing new… ticks are endemic to Westchester/​Hamptons and I was in both. I was very early in the Lyme epidemic one to get Lyme disease in the late 80s, when little was known about treatment. As a matter of fact, I had to travel to Easthampton to be treated by one of the few experts in the field, who advised me, having late Lyme, to keep treating it with antibiotics until I felt better. This took 8 monhts, but finally worked. I’ve been fine ever since.
Dr. Malik said on his quick examination he couldn’t find a tick. Is he kidding? They fall off after a certain amount of hours. Since he couldn’t find one, he wouldn’t treat it, even as a preventative as in giving me a standard dose of Amoxycillin. Instead, he handed me the latest government bulletin on treating Lyme! No, thank you. Apparantely I know a whole lot more on Lyme than he did.
Then, I had him look at my face, as there was a recurring sore spot near my nostril that wasn’t healing. He looked at it and proclaimed it «IRRITATED.» This turned out to be SKIN CANCER, Dr. Malik, as did the other spot on my face you TOTALLY MISSED. Thank you so much for your botched diagnosis. I headed to the city to get a second opinion; both cancers were taken off a week later. I hate to think if I was a patient who depended on a doctor’s diagnosis and left it at that… the cancer would have grown for years.
This reminds me of an old joke: What do you call a medical student who graduates at the bottom of their class? Answer: Doctor. Dr. Malik, you are a dangerous doctor.
