Ordered single plain slice, $ 3 Crust– sightly crunchy, little to no flavor, tasted somewhat old Cheese– greasy, cheap Sauce– not bad, but not good enough to redeem the slice. Overall– cheap tasting slice with premium prices.

Staff was very polite and friendly. I’m new to the area. I moved here from the Bronx where I had 4 pizza shops within a walking distance, all of them good, some even great. This Pizza was tasteless. Will never go back. My search for a great slice of pizza continues.

Very difficult place to rate because I’ve heard their quality fluctuates a lot. Two or three times I ordered, they tasted okay.(Let me just say that I don’t really like any of the pizza places around Edgemont and I’m talking in relative terms) I get barbecue chicken pizza and Hawaiian. sometimes the dough can be too thick, and they’re not outstanding… Overall it’s an okay place and okay price. The staff there is very very friendly and that’s one of my primary reasons I go back to eat.

Wow has this place gone downhill since Pat and Pat left years ago. Can’t say anything good about it.

My family often orders pizza here for dinner. Although I never had an amazing experience, here the food and service was always ok enough for me to return. So I came here for lunch, and I ordered the chicken cutlet wrap. It took them a very long time to make it. Although it was humungous, the wrap was very dry, and when I took a bite into it I found the twisty thing that ties the bag that a loaf of bread goes into. They told me that it must of fell in there because apparently the guy has a loaf of bread in the freezer and makes toast. Then when we went to go pay for our food the guy wasn’t at the counter. He was in the back kissing his girlfriend. We were forced to wait for him to return. I also complained about the twist tie in my wrap, and he still made me pay for it. Later on I went back and the guy said he would’ve given me a free sandwich next time. However, he did gave me $ 8 back instead of the $ 7.50 I originally paid after arguing with the man over the situation for several minutes.

WEIRDEXPERIENCE I used to be a regular at this place and stopped by a few weeks ago and had a very weird experience on a weekday afternoon. The man at the counter, who I had never seen before, couldn’t get my order right — I ordered two regular slices to go. He took one hot slice, folded it, then shoved it into a paper bag. I was SHOCKED. I explained(it took a while to get through to him) that I wanted two slices and not to fold them. Instead of processing the order, he spent time explaining what he thought I said before. S&J, where did you get this guy? Please train your counter people! Not only did this one alienate a customer, he wasted food because the folded slice was thrown out. Eventually I left with my two slices, in a bag, not a small box. I’m going to go back, and will change the rating if there are improvements, but I would like management to read this review. Also — please have your staff wash their hands. The man who so ineptly tried to fill my order a few weeks ago had noticeable dirt under his nails. This stuff is so simple, why not correct it?

The pizza is so average that it puts me to sleep. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prepared foods are very hit or miss. The place is tired and not clean enough for food service. Drink selection not great.

Looks like good, old style NY pizza but didn’t taste like it. Crust was much too crispy for my liking. Overly greasy too. Outrageously $$$$ for a slice.

What a piece of JUNK. The pizza is very bland no flavor at all. Horrible. Go to Villa Roma. Villa Roma pizza at least has flavor. I am very surprise people go to S & J for a slice. They need to have their tongues checked. Two fat thumbs down to the ground.

Yummy, old school, New York style pizza. I always get a super bounce ball from the $ 0.25 vending machine and a cream soda. Nothing to go out of the way for, but a decent slice to hold me over between meals. The bf is a big fan of the baked ziti pizza, but I have a strict no carbs with carbs rule.

One of my favorite stops when I go home. A consistently good slice of pizza. I used to have my parents buy a pie of ziti slices, and then I’d freeze each one individually and then bring them back here with me, and eat them throughout the year(400 degrees for 18 minutes, 12 minutes for plain slices). Brought the boyfriend home to try this once, and he was confused about the paying situation. This is a small pizza joint and pretty much everyone knows everyone else — the pizza man doesn’t know my name, but recognizes me from 15 years ago. You order, eat, then pay. I like to park in the secret lot behind it, turn into the nondescript alley before S&J’s. One slice to hold me over between meals? It doesn’t get better that this. As other places have changed over time, S&J’s is now my favorite.

This is a tiny place right on Garth road and draws local pickup orders. The place does have very limited seating. Tried their pizza a couple of times and frankly speaking, wasn’t impressed. The air is usually smokey in the restaurant, and kind of pricey for pizza.

This place has great NY style pizza that has a crispy crust. The place is super small, but great for stopping in for a quick bite to eat. The people who work there are always nice.
