horrible customer service!!! these people have no idea what they are doing!!! its not hard to take an order thru the phone now is it? and your managers, oh man are just as horrible!!! heres the story and my experience of what happened! i placed my order right? and as she asked for my payment i gave her my debit card # and she says its expired. i said what? it doesnt expire til like 5 yrs from now. i told them thanks, but no thanks i thought it was cancelled! not even 20 mins later, i hear ding dong, and its you guys at my door, im sorry i canceled my order the driver looks at me like if im crazy no sir, youre company is horrible! called the manager explained my whole story! and he tells me ok did you pay cash or credit excuse me are you not listening? damn other people in this world need jobs. you guys need better people and better service at your store… good day!

I have ordered from Fortune House for the past several years but only delivery so I can’t comment on take-​out/​dine-​in. The beef quality is fairly decent but I would pass on the chicken as it tends to taste old. I recommend the Mongolian beef, Human beef, and Hot and sour soup.
The quality has been consistent but of a mid level restaurant. The portions are very large and delivery time has always been fair.

I don’t think I have ever been disappointed by Chinese take-​out food — even the bad ones are usually still decent enough. But this place was so disappointing that I question the other reviews on here.
I ordered the moo sue pork which was way way too sweet and drowned in liquid sauce with barely any pork — and any pork I did find was super dry and hard (and bright red???) and the wraps were so dry it crumbled when I tried to wrap the filling.
I also ordered the chow fun (switched out the beef for chicken, which they were kind enough to do for me since it only came in beef on the menu — but at the same time I don’t understand how that item doesn’t have other protein options like everything else.) — and it was way overcooked, bloated, and bland.
I would have posted a photo, but it was just all dark brown mush, so I figured I would paint the picture with words instead. It’s not even like its super cheap to justify paying for it. I don’t think I will ever order from here again.

saw this restaurant on grub hub & i took a shot in the dark and ordered from here and let me tell you. oh their chow mien was the best thing i’ve ever had and they give you more than enough to share (not that you would want too) 5 stars!

Usually good food, but the last time I ate there there were ants in my egg drop soup. They apologized and offered me credit to the restaurant but I can’t bring myself to eat there again.

I ordered $ 73.00 worth of food for dinner. I am not sure if owners or management has changed at Fortune House, but it was a big waste of $ 73.00! The food was 100% terrible!!! What a disappointment! I lived in Schaumburg/​Streamwood for 17 years. I moved to California 3 years ago. I came here with my husband and daughter to spend Christmas with my family. On this very cold, windy, icy, snowy night, we wanted good Chinese food and I thought FH would be it. NOT at all! The sesame chicken I ordered was extremely soggy with no flavor. It’s like they took heavily breaded chicken and drenched it in sweet syrup sauce. Sooo gross! I called and spoke to the manager– he said he can’t give me my money back but he can give me a credit on my account. I will never eat there again, so I guess I won’t use my credit. Don’t waste your time and money on this place!

The food was delicious! Huge portions as well. We had Mongolian beef, orange chicken, crab Rangoon, beef fried rice and egg rolls. Everything was delicious and hot!

They burned my egg foo young. It was the first time I’ve ordered from them. Also the prices on their web site are wrong. I will not order again, a couple doors down there is a great thai food place.

This place is great! The lunch menu ends at 3, but its really cheap and all the orders come with an egg roll and a drink. We got orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken and both were amazing!

I decided to order lunch from here today and was highly unsatisfied.
It took 2 hours for them to deliver my meal. (Which was just one order of Sesame Chicken, and an Egg Roll on the side. Nothing big)
I had to call twice to remind them I was waiting. Their online ordering is very disorganized. After the two hour wait, I didn’t get any kind of discount, just an apology. The food was hot, but the taste was poor. There was way too much garlic in the Sesame Chicken and it ended up hurting my stomach.
If you’re looking for a convenient, good tasting meal don’t go here.
Do not recommend.

5 star for the fried rice. The portion is large and worth every cent!
The chow mien is yum yum! The oil is a bit extra in this but it has all the Taste and flavor otherwise. The portion is amazing again!
The veg spring roll was a blah! No flavor. No salt. Nothing wow about it! As a matter of fact it was sweet!!!
Their famous tso chicken was not of my Taste but wasn’t bad either. Portion size –superb!
Ordered for home delivery on a Saturday night and believe it or not it was delivered well before I could even finish one drink!
Will surely order the rice again!

My go-​to since moving to Schaumburg. They’re quick for pickup. I’ve never orders delivery.

This place is the bomb! You really cannot go wrong with anything that you get here. What I love the most about their lunch special is you can replace the egg roll with crab rangoon. That is hard to do these days with other Chinese places without getting the 3^rd degree or hassle that comes with that kind of request. The rangoon is FILLED with cream cheese-​not to mention super crunchy and flavorful. So it’s typically 7.00 lunch special with your option of crab rangoon/​egg roll, choice of fried rice or regular (I’d recommend the fried-​absolutely the best I’ve had to date) choice of soda and your main dish. HUGE PORTIONS. I like the Mongolian Beef, Empress Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, General Tsos Chicken… you cannot go wrong with their choices! My ultimate go to is the Mongolian Beef spicy. Good quality meat (aka doesn’t taste like you might be eating dog) great portions and they deliver! Delivery fee isn’t too bad and they arrive relatively fast! Great place.

We’ve been ordering takeout from here for a few years now and they have always managed to keep the food tasty and hot. They could not be quicker with making it. They tell me 15minutes and its always ready to be picked up at the time. The portions are generous. They don’t include hot mustard or hot sauce unless you ask for it, so if you like your food with some heat you have to ask. I find their prices to be a little expensive. They do smaller portions of just about everything except for orange chicken (the thing I order the most), so a little disappointing but I guess it doesn’t hurt to have leftovers for lunch the next day. Food is always great. Its the best place I know for takeout Chinese food in Schaumburg.

STAY AWAY!!! ORDER ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
I used to love their food until I ordered a low mein noodle from them on Friday, 8 May 2015. When I was plating my food, and thankfully I did not just eat from the container. The only reason I did not eat from the container was because I was going to share this with my mother in-​law.
As I was portioning out food, I heard a strange plunk. After looking at the scoop of food I just plated, I found a ROCK in the food. Not a hard seed, an actual rock that I would find in my yard, in my food. Had I not plated it, I would have ran the risk of breaking a tooth, or worse breaking my family members tooth.
How does a rock I would find in the yard get into food? Absolutely no excuse for this, and I have already told neighbors, friends, and family to stay far away.
Needless to say, I tossed our EVERYTHING that we ordered. I would not even feed your food to my dogs now.
UPDATE: I called the health department, and learned what was in my food. It wasn’t a rock, but a part of their nasty floor. They were preparing food when the inspector showed up, and also had someone jack hammering the floors. They shut them down until repairs are completed, but it was confirmed that there was dust and debris everywhere. Absolutely appalling!

Worst place ever do not order!!! The manager told me to never order from him again because he won’t omit garlic from the chicken order. He told me my orders are too much for him to make without garlic or without onions. The food is not fresh premade and the manager and owner don’t want your business. Save your time and money and go somewhere that wants your business!

Fortune House, I wanted to like you but then I picked up my food and actually saw the establishment.
First off, the food is okay. Their chicken is never crispy, kind of mushy, but the sauce flavors are good. I do like their fried rice sans bean sprouts, I can make a meal out of that.
So I ordered from here and went to pick it up rather than have it delivered. Eek. The place itself has two tables to eat at, so it’s really more of a to go type deal. That however didn’t stop some construction dudes from eating there.
Since I had to wait a bit, I really got to see the place while it was running. The place is dirty. The outer area where customers wait was dingy. Nothing looked like it had been cleaned anytime recently other than with the swipe of a rag or maybe a recent floor sweep, but you could see the build up of old dirt/​spills/​etc.
What I was really grossed out by was that the guy answering the phone/​handling money was also packaging food to go. After of course licking his fingers to open a plastic bag. I never saw any hand washing. Ick.
So even though the place itself needs a good health inspection, it was busy. I felt bad for the finger licking guy because he seemed pretty swamped. Swamped enough that he never mentioned when I got my food to grab the pops from the cooler that were included in my lunch specials. I realized it once I got home.
After seeing how this place is run, I won’t be back. I couldn’t bring myself to eat my lunch after seeing how it was run.

Wow, wow, wow, wow! This is the real deal. I love their Chinese food!
I love that this place is strictly carry out or delivery.
There is no better place than at home to eat Chinese food, alone or with others.
It’s not a fast food restaurant but I don’t have to wait very long for my order to be ready when I call ahead and tell them I’ll pick it up myself. By the time it takes me to walk my dog to the strip mall of where this is, I’ve worked up an appetite and when I reach my dad’s place with the bag of goodies, I’ve given myself a decent workout.
I like the Smart cars their drivers use to make deliveries. They are so darn cute and a great option for lazy days or bad weather.
