Ahhh, GameStop. It has been a staple of my existence since the stone age. It was all of 2 days after I got the entertainment center in my apartment set up before I immediately turned to Google to find the closest location to me. Fortunately, it was all of 2.7 miles away. However, I guess when I think about it, damn near anything I could possibly want from the world of retail is about the same distance. This town is like consumerism crack. Most large retailers like GS do everything in their power to give their customers a consistent shopping experience regardless of location. So theoretically if I were to walk into the GS in Nome, Alaska, it would be pretty much the same as the one here. Experience has taught me that is not the case. I have visited more than my fair share of locations where the clerks who worked there knew about as much about gaming as I do about piloting a lunar lander. This sucks! I want to talk games with people who actually play, who know consoles backwards and forwards, and will tell me honestly and truthfully if I am making a mistake by purchasing a title that is awful. The gaming press(most of them anyway) are pretty much shills for the large developers and publishers. It’s hysterical to log onto places like IGN and the reviewer who raves about a title gets ripped to pieces by the gamers in the comments section below. Mad for taking their word for it and wasting their money. We core gamers are a VERY unforgiving and hypercritical group of people. I really do not need to get any more nerdy in this post than I already have. So I will just say this; after a lengthy convo with the staff at this location, I am now throughly confident these guys are on the level.

Good place. 5 star rating. Ryan and the manager Jess are good people and will go that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I’ll be going to this place from now on for all my gaming needs.

Went here last night for a midnight game release with my son. Thank goodness it was midnight eastern time. We expected a line because of the game being released and we got there early. We were welcomed into the store for a pre-launch party and some games. My son instantly went into geek mode talking with the employees about the games. This was my first time at a midnight launch and was so out of my element. …just me being in the store is out of my element but watching my kid geek out was pretty cool. He was the youngest in the store and everyone was welcoming. I will definitely«geek» out next week for another game launch.
