Excellent Korean food — very authentic and attentive staff! Don’t forget to try some infamous soju with your meal, and at least one of the great appetizers. I had the dumplings which are far better than any dumpling I have had in an Asian restaurant! It’s entertaining just to watch the different dishes coming to the table, many of which are in boiling hot pots, or cook at your own table. This is truly a great meal experience!

I’ve visited this location for almost 30 years; it’s gone through a few owners, and there have been ups and downs because of it. But the current owner does things right. Even though I don’t live anywhere near the place, I make a point of dropping in a lot. The food is just outstanding, plain and simple. No matter what I or my friends order, it’s delicious. The bulgogi, bibim bap, and chap chae are my favorites. There’s also a special place in my heart for their kimchee stew, especially on a day like today where the wind chill is below zero. Any time we had a question about a dish, the staff always gave a thorough answer. We’ve also asked for suggestions, and were happy with our choice. Speaking of the staff… the servers are no-nonsense, efficient, and attentive, but not in the overly solicitous way Americans seem to expect. Which, frankly, is a relief. Your server won’t come by every few minutes to ask if they can get you anything, or top off the water glass you’ve barely touched. If you want something, press the call button at your table, or simply raise your hand to get a server’s attention, and they will respond quickly. Otherwise, they’re going to give you space to enjoy your meal and your friends. To be honest, I wish more restaurants were like this.

I am giving 2 stars in hopes for Koreana go back what they used to be. The service used to be much better even when they were full house. Tonight, the restaurant was not busy at all, but service was super slooow. Not sure what happened.

The food was excellent but the service was horrible. I felt scared to ask the server for anything. The services seemed to be more concerned about a different large table that arrived after we did. The service was slow, we had eaten there before and never was it so slow. We didn’t get hot tea upon arriving like other tables. We ordered 2 orders of bulgogi and 1 order of kalbi the waitress humored us asking if we could eat so much food. WELITERALLYHADTOASKFOREVERYTHING!!! It got to a point where i felt bad for asking, they were never concerned about anything we may need like refills on tea, water, or leaf lettuce. We had to ask them to bring out and rice and soup. Excellent food horrible service im sad to say.

Never again… the service was careless and uninspired. The meal was served piecemeal; appetizer and one entrée first. 45 minute wait for the second entrée. The hot tea was apparently left over from lunch and stone cold. The food is so-so and priced higher than it merits. I won’t be back.

Food took forever, it wasn’t even busy, they sat us near the door and every time the door opened I was greeted by the most chilling cold breeze ever, the server never came around when I needed her, food was not worth the wait, I do not recommend it and they also seem racist to non Asian people, because we waited, some other Hispanic people were waiting forever, but a few Asian tables got their food first despite coming in after us.

another gem of Schaumburg for those who will travel away from the big box stores for lunch. I have never had their dinner menu, so I cannot comment. The lunch specials are great, and for sub-$ 10 without a large lunch crowd(plus all the pickled veg and kim chi that comes with a normal Korean meal), you cannot complain about this.

Overpriced and blended food. Not worth the money. Service is OK. Nothing special. I don’t know why people like this place. Unilocal failed.

Finally, a Korean restaurant in the area that’s worth going to! I’ve tried all the others in the area and was so disappointed that I almost didn’t want to try this place, thinking that it would be the same. Fortunately, I decided to try it out anyways and I’m so glad I did! I dropped by with my girl on a Friday evening and got seated immediately. The first thing I noticed was the mouth watering aroma of Korean grilled meats that filled the place. The next thing I noticed was that the place was packed with mostly Koreans. That’s usually a good sign that the food is authentic. We ordered the kimchee stew, marinated galbi(short ribs) and a big bottle of Korean beer. The service started out a tad bit slow, but it wasn’t anything to complain about. They brought out the banchan(side dishes) and the beer to start off with. What was surprising was that one of the banchans was galbi jjim(braised short ribs). This is usually a main dish, and quite an expensive one at that. I was surprised that they offered it for free as a banchan. After a few sips of beer, the main dishes came out. The kimchee stew tasted a bit different(gingery?) from other ones I’ve tried, but I got used to it quickly and really enjoyed it. The marinated galbi was a tiny bit chewy, but still tasty. We both really enjoyed the meal. As noted, the service started out a tad bit slow, but once we were all settled in, the service was great. Many different people walked by to make sure we were doing okay. They had absolutely no problems with us asking for stuff and they did everything with a smile. All in all, I would say this is the best Korean restaurant in the area. The food was great, the service was great, and it actually felt a bit like Korea in there. I would definitely recommend this place to friends. Try it out if you haven’t!

My husband and I were invited out to dinner by a Korean couple we know. This is the place for authentic Korean barbeque. I can’t tell you what exactly it was that we had, but it was great. Our hosts cooked our food for us, according to tradition, at the table. A platter of thinly sliced meats was brought out, in addition to head on shrimp. We also had soup that was loaded with vegetables, meat, and noodles. The soup was also cooked at the table and whenever the liquid level went down the owner added more broth. There were sauces and traditional sides. Hope to go back again.

Food: Good Service: Acceptable Price: Average Ambience: Typical Korean BBQ It’s not bad but it’s not outstanding. I didn’t find anything special or out standing about this place. The meat, appetizers, service, price are all standard Korean BBQ.

Great food!!! I love this place, the food is here is amazing. They have amazing side dishes and their service is good. The only small down part is that not all tables have grills and sometimes there is a long wait to get a table.(Can you blame them?) However, when a table opens up, you will realize why it was worth the wait! I def go back here multiple times.

I have been coming here since I was 10 years old. They changed owners over the years and this one is the best by far. The food here is fresh and they serve good quality meat unlike other Korean restaurants. The spicy soups are amazing here. Love this place

Service was very slow. Had the kimchi jigae and I was not a fan of it as the dish wasn’t very flavorful. Husband loved his bibimbap though!

Have been here for at least 10 times, near to my previous office. Good for lunch and dinner for me. If you want simple lung just order the Dumplings soup, which is healthy and good for lunch. If you want to have a big meal, traditional Korean BBQ is so good for family gathering or friends parties. Beef tongue, Porkbelly, or just regular chicken, pork or beef bugulgi is wonderful enough to make your stomach satisfied. Cold noodle is good but not my style. Dol all bb bam is always attractive for me, whether lunch or dinner. Service is good if you show some respect to those kind and helpful folks. What else? Say Hi to your Korean friends!

My friend and I ordered the Korean BBQ for 2 and I have never been so satisfied with a meal in my life! We took our time, tried every combination imaginable, and left a few pounds heavier than we arrived. SO worth it! The staff was very helpful and accommodating, the dining area was clean and open, and the food was AMAZING! If I lived nearby, I would eat here every day.

This place was pretty f*cking good! Coming from LA where there’s kbbq places in every corner, I didn’t really have high expectations coming into this place. But this place definitely exceeded my expectations! Their kalbi was the best. Prices were very reasonable. Service was very nice and attentive. No complaints Will definitely come back when I’m in the area again

Koreana has real, authentic Korean; the prices are steep but worth it. If you like spice, and you are white, be sure to tell them because they seem to assume that white means no spice.

I made reservations as suggested by another Unilocaler and got seated right away(on a Friday evening too!) First impression was that the layout was a little awkward Some of the tables were very close together while others were more spaced apart. You can easily bump into someone or something in certain parts of the restaurant. Also, the tables and chairs didn’t all match, and by that, I mean some tables were a different material and appearance than others. If the food is great though, it doesn’t matter if they have the ugliest furniture ever or the worst layout. The banchans, or mini side dishes, were pretty good(we got seven for a party of two). I don’t know too many Korean restaurants in the area that offer a beef banchan, so definitely a plus! I ordered dolsot bibimbap(hot stone bowl of beef, rice, veggies), which was pretty good. I couldn’t finish at least half of it because the banchans helped fill me up. My friend ordered the yukgaejang(beef soup). I tried some of her dish, which was pretty decent. Our table didn’t have the buzzer that other Unilocalers had mentioned in their reviews. However, service was good, and the employees were attentive. Overall, I recommend going to this restaurant.
