Mimi’s Nails

If I could give zero stars I would. I came here after a few visits that were nice. Unfortunately, I will never come back due to the nail tech’s ignorance. Instead of clipping what was a minor hang nail on my big toe, the nail tech proceeded to pull on it, pulling my entire cuticle back. The next day my toe was incredibly sore. A few days go by and my toe seemed a quite swollen and it was unbearable to walk. I went to my doctor and was told there was an infection and I was put on augmentin to get rid of the nasty infection caused by this incident. Avoid this place at all costs and go to someone who is educated on keeping nails healthy!

First time here since I moved to the area a few months ago. I have been looking for a nail salon to get a long overdue pedicure and this one caught my eye because of the good reviews. Let me tell you, it did not let down. The water was a bit hot, but a very good comfortable temperature. Got the sugar scrub massage, 6 $ extra, definitely worth it! Left my feet and legs feeling super smooth. Very satisfied with the service, will definitely be returning!

Perfection. Pedicure water was HOT. (There’s nothing worse than putting your feet in and the water is cool or room temperature) I got a No Chip Mani and it looks absolutely perfect. She was so meticulous and almost obsessive about the trimming and polish being perfect, YET didn’t take longer than any other No Chip. By the way, $ 15 pedicure and $ 25 No Chip! Love it

The basic pedicure is great! You can add on extras too, like a hot stone foot massage for $ 10. When you are spending $ 15 on the pedicure (Mon-​Thurs) it is still a great price!

Pedicure was only $ 15– the cheapest I have ever paid. They got me in quick & the 5 star is for the foot massage. I switch off between polish changes & Pedi’s because I feel they cheat you on the, «full service» sometimes. The massage was the longest I’ve ever received & thorough. For $ 5 more (polish change $ 10) I will continue to come here!

Love this place. Been to a few others but may have finally found my home. They really take their time to make sure you get the best and at really reasonable prices (so make sure you tip well!).
My toes look great and was a pleasant experience, even for this girl that HATES getting her feet touched. The care really shows in their work, I barely flinched once. Repeat customer right here!

They got us in right away which was great. The no chip manicures are only 25 dollars but you get what you pay for. My mom’s was very bumpy and my lady got upset that I asked her to fix a smudge and didn’t do a top coat for me even with asking so mine chipped off like 2 days later. You really get what you pay for.

Came in for a pedicure but decided to do a manicure as well. The lady that took care of my manicure was a little rough but actually did a good job however the guy who took care of my pedicure did a very poor job. It was quick, didn’t massage my legs at all and didn’t remove any callus. I guess you get what you pay for. I should’ve known better. I am going back to my old place where I have to pay few dollars more but the service is excellent.

Avoid unless you want to spend close to 3 hours here and get shuffled around between three or four people. Also, the one guy doesn’t understand basic instructions. Asked for a colored french tip and he couldn’t figure out how to do it. The younger nail tech dud a decent job of a colored french tip on the girl sitting next to me. He had to remove the Polish on my nails twice and that’s when I had enough and asked to have someone else color my nails (the lady who originally started them). Awful job not a clean place either, definitely never coming back.

They are my regular pedicure place every 2 weeks… really consistent quality service… without me having to ask… get the standard cleanup as well as good trim and ingrown check… buff and smoothing of the calluses as well as a really nice leg and foot massage.
And… wait for it… have NEW massage chairs!!! Whooooo. The ⁴⁄₆ new chairs do a really good job of loosening up my lower back and I don’t mind if this pedicure takes 90 min. Ahh. Yes.
It’s only $ 3 more ($ 18) for this awesome pedicure on Fri or Sat… so you shouldn’t skip it if that works best.. I heart this place… and my regular chick… thanks Ivy. =)

I was here on a mini vacation while my boyfriend had training in Schaumburg so I decided to try and find a place for a quick mani/​pedi at the last minute. They weren’t busy, but even when the customers picked up, the one guy did an awesome job and took his time. I didn’t get anything special (like gel or shellac) but the quality was really good & lasted surprisingly almost 2 weeks for being normal nail polish. The pricing was VERY reasonable too… it’s a little dated on the inside & conversation was lacking, mostly due to language barrier, but overall a really good experience. I’d go again if I was in town again…

Love this place! There pedicures are amazing!!! And cheap!!! I paid $ 18 !! And they did a great job!!! I walked in as soon as they open at 10 am and the ladies were disinfecting the pedicure chairs, and dusting, the place looked pretty clean, YES, they talk in there language and sometime you wonder if they’re talking about you? YES they don’t converse with you, but that’s ok, I will definitely recommend this place! And I will be going back!!!,

This place is great. First their prices are insanely low. Lower than the menu pictured! A pedicure is $ 15 Sunday through Thursday and just $ 18 Friday and Saturday. I went in tonight for a full set and was more than pleased with my experience. I will say this, it is certainly not a luxury spa but if you can get past the exterior you’ll be fine. Honestly I just want my nails to look nice and I don’t want to pay a ton of money. My full set took about an hour and cost $ 20!!! My nails look great and the tech was meticulous and took her time to ensure each nail was even and perfect. While I was getting my nails done a woman stopped in for a pedicure. Her service lasted nearly an hour and we ended up at the drying station at the same time. I checked out her toes and they looked good. While at the drying station I received a complementary shoulder massage which was great. I will go back here in a heart beat.

I have been to many places in the area for a good petti. This place is great. I always opt for the lemon massage it feels good. Some place don’t spend any time on you and they talk a lot in front of you in Vietnamese making you feel self-​conscious. This place is right down the street from First Nails, near Quentin and Algonquin. I felt uncomfortable and over charged at First Nails. This place is nice clean and Friendly.

New ownership! Important to note that new ownership took over this summer so any reviews prior to that really aren’t relevant any longer. The absolute best thing about Mimi’s Nails is $ 15 pedicures Monday to Thursday. Truly a steal!
The inside of Mimi’s is bare bones, pretty ghetto fab. There are coats hanging on a rack for sale in one corner. The massage function in the chair I was seated in didn’t work. And just generally it’s not the picture perfect vision of beauty. However, it’s absolutely worth it to me because the pedicure is $ 15…and they do a great job in my opinion plus you get a nice little leg massage to boot.
I’m not a big fan of their nail colors — they could use some more shades of neutrals and just more colors in general… am I seriously complaining about them having *only* 50 shades of polish though? White girl problems.
I made an appointment when I went and would recommend that to others. However, loads of people walked in after me for various services… just a paint change, pedicures, mani/​pedi combos and waxing. I’m interested to know what their prices are like for waxing. The mani/​pedi combo is $ 27 which is a great deal, as well. You get less attention here than other places but I hate too much attention so it works for me.
Important note for my fellow nail shop goers: It’s super rude to be on your phone in the salon, arguing loudly with your significant other. Peace, love and happiness hippie homies.

This place is great! They closed at 5:00pm but still let me come in at 6:15pm for a fill. Every time I’ve come here, it’s been a super positive experience! The staff is really friendly (I mean, come on! I came in an HOUR after they closed and it was no problem!!), fast, and do a great job!
I’d defiantly recommend them to everyone I know!

I saw Tina for a quick polish change and some false eyelashes. She did a good job– I was looking for an alternative closer to home for both, instead of driving to the city. 1 star off cleanliness. Prices pretty competitive for suburbs. I’ll probably go back for pedi-​mani in future.

Very dirty… and always make you wait! Big turn over in techs. I moved to found a new place on Euclid and Quentin, Nail First.

Fantastic service and prices. My mani & pedi lasted for weeks. I definitely recommend this nail salon.
