Alto Grille

Terrible Management. Terrible Service. Terrible Food.
For being right next to Proctors you would think that this place would be a little more on top of its game. I also went there recently and was greeted with a terrible disposition among the waitstaff. The manager figure was standing aroun doing nothing while the little staff that they had schedule busted their butts.

A friend and I decided to stop into Alto Grille for drinks and a few appetizers before a show recently at Proctors. Upon entering the bar and grille, a waitress came up to us and asked if we had reservations. We had answered no. She rudely told us that we «would just have to stand at the bar.» Standing at the bar was fine for the both my friend and I, so we continued to find a place at the bar to order drinks. We stood for at least 20 minutes with out even being GREETED let alone helped or served. Once someone finally got to us we had ordered two glasses of wine just to make things simple. We then started noticing that everyone around us was getting terrible service as well. The bar was filthy! There were glasses and plates all over the place and no one was taking any effort to clean anything up. The manager just stood in the corner telling the bar tender what to do, the waitresses who were on offered no help to the bar tender and stood around chatting with each other and the customers. Being that both my friend and I work in the restaurant field we felt as though this place needed some serious help. In fact, we said to each other that we felt as though we should be helping this place out. In the future, the restaurant should schedule more than one bartender on a busy Friday night — especially if there is going to be a show at Proctor’s that evening. In fact, the poor girl who was tending bar could have used another bartender and a bar back. The Alto Grille should consider hiring a hostess to greet people politely, with a smile on her face, and lastly, they should consider finding a new manager, because this gentleman clearly had no idea what was going on and what he should be doing.
