Stopped in for a quick lunch bite while on the road… good service and great food, they served breakfast menu items all day I think, we were there around 1pm. Had a skillet/omelette which was delicious. Has an older traditional small town feel to it, traditional lunch counter where the waiter/server/cashier is one in the same guy behind the counter greeting you when you walk in and takes your order too. Nice people. Plenty of parking. I would return if I pass by the area in the future!

My first time here. The server was pleasant and knowledgable. I had the New England clam chowder. Definitely made from scratch. Great flavor, exactly what I expect this classic to taste like. Plenty of clams and by clams, I don’t mean just minced pieces. I mean nice, good sized pieces of clam that taste fresh. I ordered the mushroom, Swiss, and onion burger. Looks great. The pickles appear to be homemade rather than from an industrial can and have great flavor. I would not have minded more of those pickles. Burger came out on a nice kaiser roll, not one of those cheap buns that so many places use. The burger is cooked to the correct temperature that I requested, juicy but not so much that it would make the bun soggy. It is obvious this café cares about quality. A gentleman who appeared to be the manager or owner checked on me and clearly appeared to be willing to fix anything if it wasn’t perfect. I would come here again and recommend it if you are in Schenectady.

I had to rewrite this review because I use the word ‘homemade’ too many times. … The best REUBENSANDWICHINTHECAPITALAREA. Matt the owner/chef is very talented and very passionate about the food he creates. From the homemade pickle slices next to your sandwich or burger to the homemade blue cheese next to your Awesome chicken wings. Homemade corned beef hash with homefries that are real… not something delivered by a supplier. This guy even makes his own desserts… stay away from the rice pudding you could develop a habit. Give Lorenzos a try you can’t go wrong.

We chose this place for a quick business meeting over lunch. Casual interior, nice staff. House made fried mozzarella cheese was excellent. All freshly done so it took a few minutes more than expected but was worth the wait. We had 3 kinds of subs. Meatball Parm, sausage Parm and chicken Parm. All were very large portions for $ 7.00. Great flavor. I added peppers and onion to the sausage for an extra $ 1.00. Well worth it. Looking forward to trying some of the other specialties.
