Went in on a whim and got a ‘Happy Cappy’. It was delicious, I just gulped it down. Got a biscotti too which was pretty hard and not that sweet but overall still good. Will bump it up to 5 stars after I go in again and try a cookie or muffin.

I occasionally visit the Schenectady area and look forward to the Happy Cappuccino every time! If you are going through the area do not miss it. It feels like a typical small coffee shop, cute blackboard with a handwritten chalk menu, little tables and chairs and espresso machines right in front of you. I was introduced to very good coffee as soon as I started consuming it, this people is good coffee. They pay attention to detail when making whatever you order. I have tried a plethora of drinks including the white chocolate mocha and a caramel macchiato which are two of my personal favorites. I have never been disappointed even the slightest bit with my coffee. I also consider the prices pretty fair for the size considering the running price of good coffee today.

As an out of towner who visits Schenectady multiple times a month for work, I’ve been searching for a good morning spot for coffee. This place is it. There’s a little nook by the street that gives you a great view for people watching(or pondering life’s unsolved mysteries, if that’s more your speed). I definitely dig it.

Great little coffee shop that offers free WiFi, very clean place that has chess boards and a lounge to hang out. It has outdoor seating.

I tried one of the specials I saw on the board and it was perfect. Good balance of sweet and a nice bite of cappuccino. What you want done right, but barista wasn’t the friendliest person. The only other real downfall is the heat inside the place. If you don’t mind a hot place to drink coffee during summer, stay in, but they do have a couple tables outside in the shade, which is where a friend and I decided to have a nice, long chat. Love the location. It’s like a little beautiful oasis in the middle of Schenectady. UPDATE: After both the amazing friendly owner and manager contacting me on specifics with flawless customer service, I bumped this up another star. I only wish ALL business owners were this concerned about their businesses.

The espresso drinks I’ve ordered have been a little inconsistent and sometimes lean to the bitter side, but I always make this one of my stops when I visit Jay Street. It has a good vibe and the people who work there have always been friendly. Today I noticed that they offer«suspended» coffee, which tipped my three-ish stars to four.

such a cute place… and they have ALMONDMILK!!! YES! It seems to be taking a long time for coffee shops to get down with the skinny on Almond milk… but this place is on top of it… It could use more comfy seating for sure… otherwise its a great little spot on Jay. :)

Please don’t go to Starbucks, come here and get real coffee. They make it right, espresso is a bit on the strong/bitter side… but that isn’t bad, just the style.

One of those coffee places I give about three stars to for the decent but pretty mundane coffee and odd nibbles(scones, biscotti), but I give them a nudge up for the excellent ambiance spread across three rooms at three slightly different levels. The only problem with Happy Capp these days seems to be that it’s getting more business now that Quirky has moved in across the street, so it’s somewhat less relaxed than it has been in past months. Jay St. has become coffee-and-used-stuff alley, and there are far worse fates in the world for a pedestrian(ish) walk. Ambition is still tops for coffee-and-dessert but Happy Capp is better for quick takeout coffee, or the lounge atmosphere if you don’t want to go to the darkened rear of Ambition.

Love this place! Gem on Jay Street! Simple and small coffee house, but best coffee around. A must try!

Heard a lot of great things about the Happy Cappuccino and decided to stop in one morning and check it out for myself; it lived up to everything I had heard! Delicious coffee(and cookie), excellent service and a very cool vibe. What more could you want from a coffee house — I’ll definitely be back!

I fell absolutely in LOVE with this place. The energy and atmosphere, feels wonderful here. The staff is extremely nice and awesome. The prices are very well set. And I love the décor, and all the art on the walls. I will definitely make this my regular hang out spot, or anytime I need my caffeine fix.

When ever I am in Niskayuna I head down to The Happy Cappuccino! There are other coffee places, but I like their Café Americano the best. Heather and Brittinay brighten up anyone’s day. Thank you. The pastries are great, when they have them.

My wife and I have stopped here for coffee a few times. Much better than the coffee I had at Ambition down the street. The wifi is a nice bonus(just ask and they will tell you the password).

I’ve only been here once — and if you’re more about substance over style, come here! I imagine in the winter, this would be a cozy spot to catch up with a friend or read a good book. The waitress was super-duper friendly, and the one latte I had was amazing! I’d love to stop by again and try another delicious beverage. If I’m lucky enough to be there on the right evening, catch some live music from local musicians as well!

Better than the average Jay St. establishment! Well, I guess that’s subjective… but so is this review! They have a good selection of brewed items for reasonable prices. There is seating outside(during nice weather), seating inside at tables, and even a couch to the left of the counter.
