Went to Wagon Train last night for the first time. The inside of the restaurant is like being in the southwest. The interior is beatiful with its two stone walls, fireplace, and a has many rifles hanging from the ceiling and two cannons. I ordered their wood fired PIZZA cooked at 1000 degrees! I had cheese, homemade sausage, mushrooms, and anchovies. It was great and very Italian. I was very surprised how tender the crust was being wood fired. My girlfriend had the ½. barbequed chicken with Mac and cheese, and their great corn bread. It to was fabulous. I am late coming to the party but will now be a regular customer. I have one request… they need to carry bottled beer along with their draft and wine selections.

The food was delicious! And I’m picky about my BBQ. The service was friendly, and the décor was fitting for a BBQ restaurant. The only downside was trying to figure out where the entrance was. On side of the building is a pool place. Apparently you have to go around back. But other than that, great food for the price. Definitely will be back

FANTASTIC! We had the chicken, pulled pork, ribs, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. The food is top notch. There were four of us and all we kept saying was how good everything tasted. Excellent job-from the staff behind the counter to every last bite. We will be back.

My wife and I came here on a whim with our friend George. It was a great spur of the moment decision. The free fresh popped popcorn was a great starter. I had the pulled rib sandwich meal. The sandwich was fantastic. The cornbread side was amazing. I wasn’t wild about the potato salad, but my wife’s coleslaw was awesome. She also had the pulled chicken sandwich and the chicken was cooked perfectly. George had the pulled pork sandwich and said he enjoyed it as well. After a great first meal, we had to return. My wife and I came back for lunch a few days later. She had her pulled chicken sandwich again but I opted for the wagon train hot dogs. I opted not to have mustard or onions on the dog, but they would’ve complimented the taste of the dogs, which had big visible chunks of onion anyway. I enjoyed the dogs very much, and will get them again the next time I’m there. Only downside to the hot dogs is that they’re shown on the menu as $ 7.95 but came up on the bill as $ 8.95. Oh well. The fries that came with the dogs were very good too. Of course I needed more cornbread, so I added that as a side, and once again it was great. I can’t wait until I get to eat here again. What a great place.

So good! I was drawn in by the statues in their lawn. I walked in the front door and was floored by the décor. It was like I had walked into an old western saloon/man cave. I loved it! I ordered the brisket salad and I was not disappointed. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I tried bites from other people’s plates and everything was very good. I would suggest anyone passing through that area to drop by.

You’ll never leave hungry. I’ve never met a man who wasn’t a huge fan of this place. It’s a cute little place with cliché western décor. With all the intricate wood burnt artwork, rifles on the wall, and animal heads. The place just screams America. I’ve had a few things off the menu and have loved everything I’ve tried, my favorite by far is the tombstone burger which is several meals for me. The Mac and cheese is A-mazing, and I could live off the cornbread that comes as a side with almost every meal. The waitresses are always super sweet, and the owner himself has asked me how my meal was every time I’ve ever been in. It also looks like they are adding on outdoor seating with a fire pit that I am excited to sit at with a glass of wine next summer!

With all the(fake? real? who knows) taxidermy, the rifles mounted on walls, the old wood stove, and life-sized models of horses and wagons – the best word to described this place is «kitschy». I was there on a Saturday night. There was live music which consisted of a guy with a guitar and harmonica singing, at times, the Goo Goo Dolls. They have an «order out» area and a dining area with wait service. The tables are large which ends up making the dining area seem small and cramped. But, I guess, when you have such large serving sizes you need big tables to support all the food. But it’s not just American in its heavily Old Frontier theme, it’s also American in its menu items. For example, I had the«Midnight Rodeo Burger» which along with the beef and the cheese, also includes helping of pulled pork and mac and cheese in between the buns. Excessive? Sure. Unhealthy? Probably. Delicious? No doubt. And that wasn’t the most excessive burger on the menu. They also have one of those enormous meat-sweats inducing burgers that you get for free if you can get it down under 30 minutes. I didn’t bother. I already know I am not Ron Sawson enough for that challenge. Other things of note: the corn bread was perfect. Moist, not dry or crumbly. The BBQ sauces were tried were good. The wait staff was very nice. Definitely swing by. You’ll enjoy the food as well as the experience.

Stopped here during a long drive on the NY Thruway. It was well worth the extra 10 minutes. Great place for kids to run around, and great food/service.

Great Food; Great Catering. Use them You will love them. We recently had wagon train do an onsite cater at our farm for our daughter’s wedding. The Wagon Train team was: professional; pleasant; very well prepared and very easy to work with. The food was excellent; and, abundant. We had about 100 guests and everyone we spoke with raved out the: pulled pork; chicken; corn bread; potatoes; etc. I was very pleased with everything. Highly recommend them for any event. Sincerely Ilyana Meltzer and Mike Wieland.

Absolutely delicious! The corn bread is top notch, and the veggie burger was definitely the best I have had. It was tasty and you can not beat their home made bbq sauce! I also love the atmosphere of this place! It is so cute and cool! I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun time and delicious food!

This was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The whole ambience is absolutely perfect. All of the décor is great and the actual wagon train out front is so fantastic. The food was beyond amazing. I don’t even like cornbread but I loved theirs. I even ordered more to take home. Their Kansas City barbecue sauce was delicious too on my fries and burger. All the workers were so friendly too. Overall great experience. Their bathroom was even nice and clean!

I found this place completely by accident nearly one year ago, and I’m planning on stopping by again in a few days when I’m traveling through NY. What got me to pull over was the parade of settlers and animals out in the yard. Took a few selfies and made my way inside to check out the joint. It was late afternoon on a weekday so not very busy. Loved John Wayne and other amusing creatures and decorations. I ordered the Pulled Pork meal. The prices seemed great, considering a meal like that at my favorite BBQ joint in Boston would be nearly double. I had to eat fast since I was already behind schedule and had several more hours of driving ahead, but got the sandwich to go and was able to enjoy the rest later. MMM! Looking forward to stopping again!

We ordered a pig roast from Wagon Train BBQ as part of a Bachelor party I was hosting. Richard took care of EVERYTHING. He worked with our budget, and provided us with a great feast. They came all the way up to Saratoga lake from their Rotterdam location. The pig was obviously the star — tons of meat — moist and delicious. They did a quick and impressive presentation so we could take a picture, then quickly pulled the meat and plated it. The rest of the food was equally delicious — great bbq chicken, settlers beans were amazing, corn bread, rolls, mac salad and cole slaw. TONS of food. The BBQ sauce was GREAT! A Little heat — sweet — great flavor. We will definitely be stopping by the restaurant to enjoy their great food again. If I ever plan a pig roast or catered bbq again, I will absolutely be calling Wagon Train!

Decent rest stop when traveling through. Decorated with fun Americana. The beans were interesting and the coleslaw was good. A useful place to know off the through way. The staff was lovely.

UPDATE! After our last visit the owner contacted me very concerned about our not so good experience. He was very concerned and wanted to make things right. We ended up going back — the owner gave us a gift certificate — the FOODISFANTASTIC! and the food was fantastic the last time just cold. The service this time was much better but I do feel needs improvement. I have bumped the stars to 3 Next time we will prolly just take out because we do love the food. The worst service ever received. We have never not left a tip. WEDIDNOTLEAVE A TIP. The only time we were spoken to was when they took our order. The waitress NEVER spoke to us again WEWILLNEVERGOBACK

Dined here a few times while camping up at Frosty Acres. Loved it! Food delicious and affordable, and so much to see on the walls and ceiling. Great collection of Americana. Great bbq, pizzas, apps and good selection of draft beers. Worth a drive from Schenectady or Albany.

Atmosphere: 95⁄100 They’ve got plenty of seating, fun hunter/cabin décor, and TVs to watch games on(no sound, but maybe could ask to be turned up?) Food: 85⁄100 Their table sauces are absolutely delicious. The rib sandwich was amazing, the pulled pork was a teeny bit dry, but still had really good flavor. The sandwiches are served on a delicious, almost brioche style, bun. The coleslaw was great, very bright(not too much mayo) and went perfectly on my slightly dry pulled pork sandwich to add just to right amount of moisture and tang the sandwich needed(I only wish they served a slightly larger portion). The Mac n cheese was just okay, although I’m not really a huge fan of Mac n cheese in general, but my husband thought he’d give it a whirl. Also, random note, but most of drinks I saw come out were bottled(bottled coke, bottled ice tea, etc.), thought that was interesting. Service: Fantastic, our server was really helpful in helping us navigate the menu and making really great recommendations. She was also amazing about exchanging the Mac n cheese for coleslaw when we discovered we didn’t totally love the Mac n cheese.
