I was so happy to find this place! After a long day of hiking, we were looking for somewhere to wind down. We were excited to find locally brewed beer(from Paradox Brewery) and great pizza in the middle of the Adirondacks. We started our meal with wood fired wings. They were very good, although weren’t really anything different than wings I’ve had in other places. Then we were onto the wood fired pizza. I had the Fun Guy pie, and my brother had the Margherita. Both were delicious! The service was quick, but I never felt rushed. Our server was very pleasant and asked us enough questions to make us feel comfortable, but she did not hover. I was pleasantly surprised by Sticks & Stones and look forward to returning next summer.

I’ve been twice. The first with my grandmother the second with my sister and her boyfriend. With grandma we got the steak sandwich and the scallops. Both were excellent! You only get 6 scallops so if you’re hungry order something else too. With my sister and her boyfriend we got clams and pizza. First time getting the pizza, it was delicious but not very big. We ordered another one because we were still hungry. They also have Not Your Fathers Root Beer!

Great addition to Schroon Lake! The pizzas are great, the food in general is all very good… their wings are gluten free which is a huge win for my wife(and they are really good too!), they make gluten and dairy free pizza and the desserts are amazing and creative… i mean s’mores at the table for the kids?! Awesome! Great drinks and beers on tap including many local beers from Paradox Brewery. The atmosphere is great as well! Worth a stop!

Great atmosphere, staff, food and local craft beers. Was on vacation in Lake George and took a ride up to check it out. Well worth the 35 minute ride. If you like wings, get the hot and stinky. Not a great name, but buffalo wings topped with crumbled blue cheese and fired in a wood fired oven… Bangin! Great thin crust wood fired pizza, egg plant was crazy good. These guys are bringing the yummy to the north country. Five it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you, thank you, for opening the summer season this Memorial Day for Schroon Lake(& Paradox!) with the Willie Playmore Band. I know, the Town had an «auction» in the park, but you threw us a great party! You made us feel like teenagers again, so how loyal will WE be as customers??? Good Thinkin’! Side note: the food is great and we WILL be back!

If you’re ever in the area, go here! My husband and I split the farm stand pizza(goat cheese, arugula, balsamic drizzle)…incredible. We also split the mushroom ravioli in vodka sauce which was also incredible. For dessert, the smores by table side. ADORABLE. They bring over a little pot that looks like a campfire and you make a little smore at your table. Marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate! The staff was friendly; the décor was woodsy with the smell of wood burning at the fireplace… absolutely perfect for a cold winters night.

Ratings are all relative. They are typically used to compare one item or place with another. With that in mind, I have very few other places around Schroon Lake that I have experienced and can legitimately compare to Sticks & Stones. I recently dined at a «café» about 7 miles away from S&S and was impressed by the quality of the food served and surprised by the attractiveness of the décor inside. Sticks & Stones bills itself as a «bistro & bar» that serves wood-fired pizza, and being in the Adirondacks I was not surprised by the natural and knotty wood plank walls and ceiling. Don’t get me wrong, it was very clean and pleasant inside, the food was good, and I’d be glad to return. But everything was pretty much as expected, including the food, so I’m inclined to only rate it as slightly above average. Our mix of family and friends ordered the Pretzel Burger($ 9.49), a Blackened Chicken Sandwich($ 10.99), a Country Clam Roll($ 10.49), and a Chopped Quinoa Salad($ 11.49). Except for the salad, the other«Platters» included French Fries, or for an addition $.99 Sweet Potato Fries. All of us who had the choice, opted for the sweet potato fries and were very pleased that we did. They were large crinkle cut fries that were nice and soft on the inside, very crispy on the outside and served with a raspberry sauce on the side. The burgers were cooked to the requested medium and served with lettuce, onion and tomato on the side. I found the pretzel roll to be a bit disappointing from what I expected. It was attractive looking, but its flavor did little to remind me of a pretzel. Maybe if it had a few grains of kosher salt on top that would have helped. The crispy fried, ale infused clams were served on a baguette and described as being good by this family member. The blackened boneless chicken, with Cajun seasoning, and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and melted cheddar was also said by our friend to be good. The quinoa salad with spinach, apples, dried cranberries, roasted corn, onion, carrot, and tossed with a quinoa in lemon balsamic dressing sounded very inviting, but its downfall was that the quinoa was under-cooked according to my wife. Service was pleasant and efficient, portions were plentiful, and value was reasonable.
