Wilbur’s North

Stopped here for lunch and got a couple wraps. They tasted okay but this place is just way too grubby (filthy, actually) to ever go back. Ugh.

The only ice cream store that serves real chocolate jimmies. The jimmies make it the best ice cream around.

Sandwiches and the lobster roll are awesome

Showed up at 9:36pm, the young lady behind the counter informed us that ‘we close at 9:00, check our website’ with some attitude. Door was open, Google says the shop closes at 10:00, website says they close at 10:00 during the summer & it’s after Memorial Day. Either post your hours on the door, lock the door when you close, or fix you hours on Google, any of these would be acceptable.
Instead we went up the street to Shawn and bought a bunch of ice cream off the shelf, no skin off our backs. #stillgoticecream #disappointedinwilburs

Not good! 15 years ago this place was legendary! Everyone in the area went there to get their famous Wicked Willie (their version of a DQ blizzard). Oh how things have changed! I went there yesterday and I knew as soon as I walked in the place had gone down hill. Apparently the owner changed and clearly it had a negative impact on the quality. Also it is much more expensive than it used to be or should be.
When my group and I entered the store the three girls working there were huddled together behind the counter gossiping about something. It must have been important because our need for service obviously was an inconvenience for them. We ordered three Wicked Willies and only one was made correctly. The other two did not have the ingredients we asked for.
Also, the place is dirty! The container where the nuts are kept for Wicked Willies was filthy! I was actually happy that the girl forgot to put nuts in my ice cream.
Lastly, they overcharged us. They charged us for 4 wicked willies instead oft 3. I believe this was a simple mistake but, if the girls weren’t so preoccupied with continuing their conversation they probably would have avoided the mistake and also put the correct ingredients in our ice creams.
I won’t go back.

Big selection. They also make ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes. Something for everybody.
It’s in North Scituate, off the beaten path.

This is an excellent ice cream and candy shop. They have been doing mix ins long before Cold Stone came along at a fraction of the price. This place has been a staple in North Scituate for many years and is a special place for me and my family.
