Deegan did work for us 3 ½ years ago for a leak in the roof that caused damage to the walls and ceiling in our family room. When we called this week to tell them we now had another leak in exactly the same place they told us they had no record of the work because they lost all files in a flood (no doubt from a leaky roof.) I found all the invoices in my files and when Brian Deegan arrived I said I had them for him to see. He refused to look at them and said, without even checking the roof, that the problem was due to something else and was not the same problem as before. I asked if it was covered under the 10 year workmanship guarantee and he said no because it had to be a different problem. I asked how he could tell without looking at the roof and his answer was «this house has such poor quality in it.»
Not only was he stupid, rude and insulting, but he was very dishonest The invoices clearly state that the work is guaranteed for 10 years and the materilas for 25 to 30.
He will not even return our calls. Know the kind of person you are dealing with before you hire Brian Deegan Roofing Company.

I have not had great luck with contractors in the past and I was somewhat skeptical when I started working with Deegan Brothers for a roof replacement. I reached out to 3 additional roofers and was pleasantly surprised with the responsiveness of Deegan Brothers. Whenever i sent emails or called, i was responded to very quickly — unlike the other contractors. What i liked about Deegan Brothers was that their quote came in first and below the rest using the same quality materials and task descriptions as the others. I decided to hire them. A few weeks later they showed up at around 8 AM with two trucks and a seasoned team of workers. They came completely prepared for the job and like a team of worker bees, attacked the job. There was not much talking or slacking whatsoever. As a person who understand construction, i monitored their work quite often with trips outside and was very impressed with the progress. When it came to flashing between the houses and skylights, they had the «specialist» handle that task. By 6 PM both roofs were done and by 7 PM they were gone — without a trace that they were here. After a few heavy rains there was not a leak to be found.
Here’s what really impressed me with Deegan Brothers weeks after the job concluded. Prior to them installing the new roof, I had a nagging leak over a soffit on the front porch. This leak caused dampness in the basement after heavy downpours. Unfortunately the leak still persisted and I called Deegan Brothers to ask if they would check it. The next day the entire team of roofers ascended upon my house with ladders, hoses, specialized tools and removed the porch soffit and systematically begain eliminating suspect spots until they found the source on my other neighbors roof. They applied flashing and sealant and the 2 year leak was gone. I would have never expected this type of customer service from a contractor after paying them. I became a loyal customer.
Next came the need for windows and I went through the same exercise regarding quotes as I did with the roof. Deegan Brothers came in tied with one other contractor. I told them I wanted to hire them and they did not hesitate to beat the other contractor’s quote. All of the other contractors wanted to install drop-​in windows into the old windows frame. Deegan Brothers did a complete tear-​out — removing the old windows entirely as well as the surrounding siding.
The morning of the installation, their field agent /​manager (Brian) came out to measure the delivered windows and make sure that the crew was ready to go. To my pleasant surprise, the exact same crew for the roof showed up for the windows job. Just as with the roof they were masterful in their construction techniques. Within an hour the siding was removed and all 5 windows had been removed. Then the careful process of refitting each window began. They could have cut corners and used lots of shims, instead they carefully measured and filled in any gaps using full pieces of custom cut wood to get the tightest fit.
Once the windows were installed and siding re-​installed, they cut and installed new molding around the windows, cleaned up and disappeared into the night. Again I was a satisfied customer. In summary, here are the points that make them a great company to work with;
1) A family business.
2) A team of construction experts that are a cohesive team — no turnover in employees
3) A field Manager who is respected by the crew and is an excellent communicator when I needed him.
4) A full-​time staffed office where you always can speak to someone — not the typical contractor where you need to leave messages and not get a callback for hours. Diane and Alyssa are terrific!
5) They don’t pad their quotes — they know what margins they need and price accordingly to win the business.
6) Follow-​up after the fact (Warranty) — excellent responsiveness.
7) Thoroughness and quality of work — excellent.
Bottom Line — Deegan Brothers sets the precedent by which other Roofing/​Siding/​Windows companies should be measured.
