I am a regular here and nothing bad to report and If there was a category for«best strip mall sushi» I would easily give this place 5 stars but since there is no such thing I can only go with four stars. This no frills sushi place is a diamond in the rough that would pleasantly surprise and delight any city snob who thinks that good sushi cannot be found outside NYC. Not only is the sushi fresh, the price is something one cannot ignore. On any one of my crazed sushi binges for two, my bill has yet to surpass $ 60(compared to the $ 175+ in NYC).

Really great experience. Affordable and the plating was very fun and artistic. Really happy with the experience and we’ll definitely come again.

We love go sushi! My husband and I usually order delivery and the food is always great. Our favorites are the chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki. They come in generous portions with rice on the side and your choice of soup or salad. Staff is very nice, and delivery is super quick.

Good sushi for lunch. They have a lunch special for 2 or 3 rolls either 8 or 11 dollars which is very good. Service was good and everything came out pretty quickly. I would definitely return.

It’s not the best sushi I have ever had in my life(especially coming from Manhattan), but it is definitely good, the price is so right, the place is super casual and everyone who works there is nice. I love that it is BYOB and that it is so easy to get a table… there is always room!

Awful, rude, nasty servers. No amount of good sushi can change how uncomfortable they make you feel! EVERYTIME!

I really like this place. The sushi is really good and affordable. The girls who work will give you attitude if you walk in an hour before close so go in early! Super fresh sushi — I go once a week

Been coming here for years and always have a great experience. Good sushi and reasonably priced. Staff is always friendly and there’s usually coupons in the town booklet which is a major plus

Good food and not too expensive. Their lunch menu is quite filling. I really like their Udon Noodle and beef bent box. Their noodles are so yummy! I have also had their sushi, which is all pretty good. They don’t put too much rice, and you can still taste whatever is inside the rolls. I tried their curry chicken dish today, and I thought it was decent. I like my curry with more coconut milk and a little more spice, than the way they make theirs. Even though, it’s still not too bad. Overall, got a good meal for 3 people, without breaking the bank! We will return here.

So over this place. They used to be spot on. So when I had a bad experience I’d give them another chance. Then again. And again. They got all jerky about charging me for extra spicy mayo. Then they send me the wrong order and were not the best about fixing it. I spent the afternoon running to the bathroom after eating here 2 weeks ago.(Not the first time this happened either). But I like their sushi so I still gave them another chance. Today my food delivery took over an hour to get to me. I called to ask them to cancel my order and they wouldn’t. Said the food was ready but the delivery driver wasn’t back yet. Dude I’m at work, my lunch hour is over. I can’t eat it anymore. They refused. So I got my order very late. My boss let me eat even though lunch was over and the hot food was ice cold. The only reason I’m not leaving 1 star is because their food tastes good and they’ve got pretty good prices. But the customer service is garbage. And sometimes you crap your brains out after eating here.

You would think because of such affordable prices on sushi that it wouldnt be that great, but that is far from the truth. This place has some of the better sushi in the area as well as some of, if not the best prices around. My favorite is their seared tuna sushi which you can order a la carte for just a dollar each! I will have to admit this place had reduced the size of its servings over the past several years but is still a great place to go if you got the sushi craving. The staff is very friendly as well.

My go to sushi bar in the area– I usually bring a 10 percent off coupon so on top of already great prices you can’t complain! The fish is always fresh and the service is pretty good! The tuna tartare is a little too sweet for me with the mango sauce but love everything else!

But sushi on 22! Roll special only $ 12.95. Delivery a little slow but worth the wait. I recommend the spicy crunchy shrimp and sweet potato roll.

I consider myself somewhat of a sushi snob so I snubbed this place when it first opened. Cheap sushi? You get what you pay for, right? But I have to admit, it’s not bad at all. Took a friend’s insistence and tried it and was a little impressed. Now I order from them regularly because its cheap, they have a decent and varied selection and they deliver(something the sushi place I usually use doesn’t offer). I typically order the edamame, shumai, gyoza and beef negamaki appetizers, avocado, California, spicy tuna, spider or Philadelphia rolls(basic) and a Rt 22 or SoHo roll(designer). Banana tempura is pretty good too but arrives a bit soggy for delivery. Avocado salad is crisp and good-sized. They also have a selection cooked dishes like noodles, hibachi and tempura, as well as several soups. And they run several ‘packages’ which I think are worth the money for a quick, cheap lunch. I’ve never dined in the restaurant– only takeout. But the place is clean and service seems quick and friendly. Design is a bit strange though– like a neon 80’s dream. If you’re looking for a quick, tasty and affordable lunch/dinner of basic American-desired sushi, this is a great place and its in an easy location on 22.

Ordering online was quite easy(and prices matched the in-restaurant menu). Every item is «discounted» on their menu, and it makes for a decent sushi experience. Is this fine dining? No. Is it decent sushi? Yes.

We came here because it had 4 stars on Unilocal. The décor inside was much better than we expected given the strip mall/dingy storefront. A very dim and softly lit restaurant, it would be a good place for dates if not for being able to hear the endless chatter of the other guests. And also, our booth was adjacent to a table with children, and they kept hammering their fists into the back of J’s seats. But that’s neither here nor there. We were both starving and ended up ordering a LOT of food. We had seaweed salad and edamame to start. The seaweed salad was a fairly small portion, and the edamame was rather unevenly salted. We also ordered a sushi/sashimi platter«A», which included 9 pieces of sashismi(salmon, tuna, yellowtail) and 4 pieces of nigiri and a eel avocado roll. The sashimi was very fresh and generous. The eel avocado roll was a perfect fatty mix of sweet and salty. At $ 17, this was my favorite item of the menu. We were still hungry after the platter and appetizers, so we took advantage of their roll special, 3 rolls + miso soup for $ 13. Again, we chose the eel avocado roll, as well as the crunchy salmon and spicy tuna roll. All were good, but fairly generic, to be expected for their price. In my opinion, good sushi depends mostly on one aspect: freshness/quality of fish and other ingredients. The food here is pretty fresh and servings generous, despite the low prices. Both the sashimi platter and the sushi roll special came with either miso soup or side salad, so we got one of each. The miso soup was fantastic – salty, savory, very umami– but the salad was generic and iceberg lettucey. However, the service leaves something to be desired. The food took a very long time to come out, and there were simply not enough waitresses to handle the guests. Our entire meal took 1:15 minutes, and I had to get out of my seat to find someone to bring us our check. Our meal costed a total of $ 48 with tax and tip. While a good value for a sit down restaurant, for a similar price I think I’d rather go to the Minado for their sushi buffet!
