A hidden gem in Scotts Valley! Food is delicious and fresh — a great place for lunch. The owner/chef of this restaurant was so friendly and you can tell he takes pride in his business and his cooking, some of the dishes are family recipes. I will definitely visit Café Hanna again!

We tried Café Hanna for the first time today after a recommendation from a local. The staff and owner were warm and helpful with our food selections. We tried the lamb souvlaki, the falafelicious sandwich and hummus. The food was excellent, super tasty and fresh. We will definitely be back!

I had to make a second trip to Café Hanna, the Lentil soup, is the best I have ever had!!! PS, I don’t need the recipe, I will be back. This small establishment really rocks the food. Thank you!!! Willow

It is average ok. Been there twice and waited too long both times. The hummus was way too salty and their warp have nothing spectacular.

I didn’t even know falafel could be a food I crave until trying the falafel at this awsome little restaurant. Super kind owners who have treated me amazingly well at each of my 30 – 40 lunch visits here after getting hooked on the best falafel sandwich in the bay area. Can’t recommend it enough, I often take co-workers as guests to eat here and I’ve had only positive glowing feedback. Thank you for making a restaurant that’s vegan friendly and has unbeatable falafel! ATB, –Luke

Stopped here after seeing all the great reviews for a take out, staff were super friendly, menu was a little space but we walked out with a couple of traditional wraps. Have to say I just didn’t get it, the food didn’t taste authentic, both wraps were supposed to be different but had the same filling, same sauce and just some meat vs falafel and the meat was microwaved. Really sorry, wanted to give a stunning review but didn’t it scratch the Greek itch at all.

What a total surprise to run into this place in the middle of Scotts Valley My cousin and I both had the lamb Slovakia sandwich and it was just amazing the people that run this place really know about service and hospitality from the heart I absolutely recommend this place

Finally made it Café Hanna for dinner and it was worth the wait. I had the Rhodes Roll which was very flavorful. The hummus had a dollop of their homemade green sauce which really added a nice burst of flavor.(Careful, it’s a little spicy!) Hubby had the Souvlaki with lamb, It was a very good sized serving. The red cabbage was a good complement to the well cooked and flavorful lamb. This is not your white tablecloth kind of restaurant yet but I think they are on the right track. Good food, friendly service and good location(especially to pop in on your way home and grab some take out). I’ll be back…

Greece… It’s often called the birthplace of Western civilization. Well it also seems that it is the birthplace of some AWESOMEFOOD! Fellow seekers of ‘Good Grinds’ take note! There is a new place in Scotts Valley that you HAVE to try. Café Hanna! I am still reeling from the Falafel sandwich that I just finished. I think someone else mentioned… and I second the opinion that the Falafel sandwich from Café Hanna was possibly the best I have ever had. Amazing hand made sesame seed covered wrap filled with fresh and high quality ingredients(the red cabbage was a wonderful touch). Can you see the ‘smile’ on my face in my writing! Well I AMSMILING! I also ordered the baklava which was also incredible(hand made, fresh, crispy… WOW). OK I promise I will do extra time on the elliptical tonight BUTITWASWORTHIT. Café Hanna is a small venue but it is very clean and tasteful. There is a small outdoor dining area that looks like a great spot to sit and enjoy a wonderful meal. All the fixtures in the kitchen area look spotless as well. Great first impression. Well done! The food was incredible… and I can’t wait to go back. But equally as pleasant was the staff. Very friendly and welcoming. Ready to strike up a friendly conversation while still being attentive to the other customers(a difficult balance of attention… but they seemed to have this completely under control). When I finished my order I was invited to have a glass of mint water while I waited. WOW… these people ARE really friendly. My order was completed VERY quickly(amazing really). When I was handed the bag of food the person explained ‘I put your baklava in with your Falafel sandwich… the baklava is delicate so be careful not to crush the bag!’. Smiles and friendly advise… clean and pleasant surroundings… MAN I hope these people are successful because I plan to come back again… …and again and again! I’ve already planned my next order… souvlaki sandwich(lamb). OMG I am so happy! Thank you Café Hanna for providing a new and fresh alternative to the limited food options we have in Scotts Valley. Thank you for your polite and pleasant staff! I wish you success and will definitely be spreading the word to everyone I know! Kalí týchi

AWFUL! I was tempted by all the stellar reviews, but I was horrible mistaken. When we walked in a woman had her hand in the ice water dispenser stirring something around, it was weird. We ordered the fried chicken rolls and a lamb wrap. The rolls came out of a drawer. Like a regular office drawer. I think they were microwaved, but I’m not sure. The lamb was TERRIBLE. I cannot stress this enough!!! The meat had the strangest texture and color. It seemed like it had been frozen and reheated numerous times. It was impossible to chew and just tasted stale. One bite and I was done. The chicken rolls were also pretty old, but slightly more palatable. My boyfriend is a human garbage disposal. He will eat anything, but he couldn’t stomach either of these items. Go to any other restaurant in Scotts Valley, seriously.

New place with very good food! They are still working out the kinks of a new restaurant, but it is well worth it. The baklava was made fresh and so good. We tried all three main dishes and were happy. The kids enjoyed the food as well. I will be back.

The souvlaki sandwich menu board states, «grilled over an open flame». Yeah right. The chicken in my sandwich consisted of some sort of preformed processed reheated mystery meat typically sold frozen in large quantities. I’ll pass.

Oh wow, so good! My personal favorites are the falafel sandwich and the baklava. Just the nicest people, not too long to wait, and reasonable prices.

Food ranged from good to amazing. Knocking off a star due to ambiance, a number of menu items being unavailable, and overuse of plastic. Hopefully with time they’ll iron some of these things out. Not inexpensive. Lentil soup: excellent – 4 ½ stars – I love the fact that there’s a little rice in there. Makes it more of a comfort food. Falafel sandwich – possibly the best I’ve ever had. Love the crisp, sesame seed-covered wrap and the tangy red cabbage(?) inside wrap. Lemanos cabbage salad – also excellent. Lemony & refreshing. Spanakopita – good. Very tasty, though I’d like some cheese to be included. Mana-keesh flat bread with za’atar – a bit disappointing. Once again – the cheesy kind(unavailable when we were there) might have been better.

Look for the red building on the left after exiting 17 and going left on Scott’s Valley Drive. This Mom/Pop Mediterranean joint is just what SV needed. The ingredients are clearly fresh and everything I ordered was flavorful. The prices are also fair.

I was seeking some relief from the food at one of the local camps and sought out something new(on Unilocal) and came across the listing for Café Hanna. I love me some lamb in general and Greek lamb in particular and while every single review mentions the bread(and I do not eat bread) I thought I’d come and try and negotiate a low carb meal off of the menu. I needn’t have worried since one of the early menu items was the Lemanos salad with Lamb Souvlaki on top. It sounded good and was a fine blend of tasty meat and hearty roughage. It did not disappoint. The meat was tender and flavorful, the salad had enough acid to balance out the slight fattiness from the lamb and for seven dollars I had a good lunch. I also had a long chat with the owner/chef about the restaurant and his vision for it. i mentioned that i buy a whole lamb each year in my local area and how satisfying it was to know the people raising and preparing your meat and he inquired as to the availability in Scott’s Valley. i checked and found some places for him to look into. the reason I bring this up is that it speaks to a great respect and attention to the ingredients, a passion for quality that is pretty cool considering that there are like 12 seats TOTAL in this place(including the 6 outside) and it might be tempting to just«get by» with lamb from the commercial supplier. I loved it, from the staff who were friendly and solicitous and willing to engage in conversation, to the set-up, which is «just starting out with a dream and a lease,» to the food, which was great. Check it out and help these fine folks make it in a tough business.

Yay for new GOOD food in Scotts Valley! I love Mediterranean, this is fresh, super healthy(yes even the house-made baklava, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it like honey over pistachios and perfectly baked filo dough). We had chicken souvlaki over crisp cabbage salad, yummy lemon vinaigrette, and lentil soup, made fresh today. Friendly owners, cute little spot. I wish they had plates instead of plastic, or potato biodegradable, but they do recycle. Overall excellent!!!

Great for a healthy, satisfying lunch. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly. Close quarters inside and can be noisy bc of the proximity to other tables so I would recommend taking it to go or eating outside if you are picky about that kind of thing. Love the small menu– to me, this means that the business is committed to providing fresh food and making it to order. Will definitely be back!

Poblano, green might I add you, is the essence of love at Hana. Ask for a side of the spicy green sauce. Wraps of lamb and chicken couldn’t be put down. I didn’t know what to expect, but these reviews don’t lie. Park in the back. Eat on the back patio– ask where it is and get yourself seconds of your order– this place is a goldmine.

Great food, great service, clean facilities I ordered the Souvlaki sandwich and since I can’t eat wheat, I asked if it could be put over salad. No problem! They were happy to do it. The lamb souvlaki over the cabbage salad with Tzatziki sauce on the side was great. The food was fresh and clean as was the whole restaurant. It’s a small place. Super reasonable prices. Good clean food.
