Probably the most legitimate non profit organization I have worked with in sustainable ag movement. Took a class, then interned. Love what they do and what they bring to the world.

It’s a great place to visit but, I wouldn’t want to intern there… In addition to dealing with sexist instructors throughout the summer, there is little support for any individual on the receiving end of «hostile work environment» sexual harassment. The Tillers staff would much rather pretend that those claiming such trespasses are either exaggerating or lying. Anything but acknowledging and addressing a problem… Very disappointed in the lack of humanity from a supposedly humanitarian organization.

My daughter and I took a Soap Making class here. It’s a long class, and lunch was included. Just one group meal, no choices. The class broke into two groups and each group made a different scent of soap. We got to keep the wooden soap mold, and got to take our soap batches home. The only drawback was the store– the store carried NOTHING related to the soap class, and the employee in the store that day wasn’t too interested in helping us. They REALLY missed an opportunity there! I would’ve bought several soap making related books, IF they’d had them in stock.

Tiller’s is unlike any other place. Think working farm meets living museum meets international outreach. I can’t even describe how impressive the whole organization is. Check it out. You will not be disappointed.
