Large portions. Potatoes are huge! My mom says«50 Taters is tasty!» Lol. Sandwiches are huge. Pecan cobbler is good. Fries are bland; need lots of salt and ketchup. Cole slaw could be better. Hot tea tastes like pure sugar. Waitresses are friendly enough. Catfish is fried well. Hush puppies are small but tasty. Salads are good but my mother couldn’t get past the white onions on her salad instead of red onions.

A must try is sweet potato fries they are so yummy. Even if you not like sweet potatoes. You will love them. The Cuban is also very good.

My wife liked her Philly Cheese Sandwich, but the only part of my BBQ burger was the BBQ. The burger patty was pretty bad. Saw a lot of folks with the BBQ sandwich. Do that. Don’t get a burger. Fries probably could use some seasoning.

This place is wonderful, but hard to find because Unilocal and IOS map have the address wrong. For you Googling; 24961 John T Reed Parkway, Suite B, Scottsboro, Al 35788 is the address. At the Northeast end of the Walmart mall area just past the Verizon store. Talk about big sandwiches on great buns — this is it. Slow smoked brisket melt with grilled onions and peppers — what a way to go. They serve the bun inside out so the crunchy, toasty inside of the bun is what you see when you get the sandwich. Delicious. My wife Jeanne had the Nana Cristo, served the same way with 2 ½ inches of ham and turkey and Swiss cheese! She loved it. The folks who own it are GREAT, friendly, and knowledgeable. You Northerners be sure to order the fried pickles, a Southern dish that is truly a comfort food, here at Five Oh Taters(that’s how they say it) it comes with a kind of beer batter with a hint of cayenne for a kick. Dip in the Ranch dressing provided and you have a yummy treat.

If you are in the area you have to eat here. The portions are huge and the food and service is great. I have been twice now and both times were delicious.

Stopped in for lunch at 50 Taters today, we were First Timers. Drove by the place and had to turn around, not the greatest signage from the road. Picked a table and sat down, all the tables were quite large, felt a bit out of place sitting at a large table for at least six people. I went with the Triple Bypass sandwich w/Sweet Potato fries, my fiancée ordered the Chicken Salad sandwich, w/Sweet Potato fries also. Felt my sandwich was just«OK», pork was on the dry side. Not a huge sandwich by any means, but it was only $ 5.99(the Sweet Potato fries were an extra $ 1.99). But I felt the fries were excellent, really enjoyed the carmel sauce that came on the plate for dipping. My fiancée loved her fries also, as well as her Chicken Salad sandwich. I only wonder why beer is not offered at 50 Taters? Would be nice to have the option of ordering a Cold One to wash down Bar type food.

Food was delicious but the fountain drinks were bbbbaaadddd. Dilution of syrup was all wrong. Service was great. Super fun local joint. Restaurant was packed at lunch which always guarantees fresh, hot food!

Three words: loaded baked potato. Also had the brisket plate, catfish platter, and sweet potato dumplings. All wonderful though fried catfish was our favorite = perfection. Definitely will come back.

The best BBQ in Scottsboro! Get the BBQ stuffed potato(the namesake), it is amazing! Move over, Triple R(Or actually, just close up shop) because the KINGS have arrived!

What a pleasant surprise finding 50 Taters! We were looking for a place for lunch in Scottsboro on a Sunday and followed a single Unilocalers advice for this restaurant. Two of us had the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The chicken sandwiches were huge and tasty but the fries were a dessert almost! They were sprinkled with a cinnamon sugar mix and served with a caramel dipping sauce. Just wonderful. Friends had BBQ brisket potatoe and enjoyed, and it was huge and filled with brisket.

Wow! This place is so good, I’ve been the past 2 days for lunch. The first day, I had the Triple Bypass sandwich(brisket, pork & sausage) on a toasted hoagie roll. It was delicious. And I got some onion rings, and they were excellent. My wife got the pulled pork plate, and she got creamed corn and baked beans. The creamed corn was good, and the baked beans were excellent. Today I got the Cuban Sandwich, and it was loaded with pork and ham. It also had cheese, pickles, mustard and mayo. It wasn’t an authentic Cuban, but let me tell you, it was so good. My wife got the Chicken Salad sandwich, and she loved it. She also got a side of sweet potato fries, and it came with some caramel dipping sauce, and they were great. The sandwiches are huge, almost enough for 2 people. Sweet tea tasted great, and my glass was never empty. Great service, and a great place to eat. Heck, I may eat there tomorrow!

This business used to be located on Market St. downtown, but relocated here last fall. It’s easy to understand why they needed larger digs. The place has a movie theme, with a monitor showing old time movies and tv shows in the background. This is mostly a barbecue place with a lunch emphasis, though they do have a few dinner entrees to go along with good old barbecue. They have about a dozen lunch sandwiches, and an assortment of stuffed baked potatoes. Also a full line of barbecue offerings including ribs. And there’s dessert, too. I’ve been there twice now(beware, they are closed Monday and Tuesday), and the service is fast and friendly. At the risk of hyperbole, the«Triple Bypass» sandwich has to be the best barbecue sandwich I’ve ever eaten. It has pulled pork, beef brisket and sausage link on a poboy roll topped with a sweet barbecue sauce. You have to eat it to believe it. I find it both amazing and refreshing that one is able to find great food in a small town without going to a chain place. Go to 50 Taters. You’ll thank me later.
