I’m not a big Unilocaler but I had to say something on this one. Was in town visiting for the Cardinals Packers playoff game. My cousin Lowell C. recommended the place. He was spot on! We sat at the bar, Cindar was working the bar & Scott(her husband) was wandering around… something about a large party. LOL Nicest & ‘somewhat’ comical folks. Drink suggestions were flawless(big bourbon fan) & Scott knows his drinks. Cindar could be nicer but she’s too damn funny to be nice(that’s a joke people) so if you aren’t in the mood to laugh or can’t take a joke… probably should keep it moving. Thanks for all the love 5th& Wine. ‘Preciate ya!!!

So… stopped by tonight for a quick bite with my cousin. What a great experience. If you happen to run in to Cindar and Scott you will not be disappointed. Great food… drinks…and service. If you not tried this spot… do it. This will be my new local spot! Wine… food…service!

It was around 10:00PM on a Friday night and we were searching around for a nice restaurant still serving dinner. This was how we came upon 5th and Wine. They’re opened until 11PM on Fridays and Saturdays. It had a great ambiance and the walls were adorned with unique and colorful paintings. I don’t drink much wine, but this spot is great for wine connoisseurs with their great array of wine choices. Papparadelle alla bolognese is one of my favorite dishes so I was excited to try it They were absolutely spot on with their homemade pappardelle and bolognese sauce. So good! Mmmm’mm! We also got 4 bruschettas, each sliced conveniently into 3 pieces: Apple, spiced, roasted peppers, and prosciutto for $ 13.95 total. All of them were a great combination of flavors and textures. Lastly we ordered the bison burger which was juicy and delicious! Had a great experience with fantastic service and good food! I will definitely be back!

My partner and I recently visited 5th& Wine for the first time on a Sunday evening. I heard about the restaurant from word of mouth and from driving past. We entered the restaurant from the corner entrance as we did not know this was not the main entrance. As we walked in, there was a small dining area with two young ladies setting tables. They did not acknowledge our presence as we looked around. We walked further back and approached the bar. The bartender was very pleasant and sat us immediately. He told us it was happy hour and that our server would be right with us. The main dining area was open, tidy and the tables were nicely set. There was one server working the floor. There was another table with a party of 2 and a few people sitting at the bar who appeared to be employees. Several minutes passed and no one approached our table for a beverage order. In fact, I made eye contact with the only server as she passed our table to go to the restroom. When she came out, I asked was she our server. She was very apologetic and said that no one told her. Happy hour offers $ 20 bottles of wine and a nice selection of appetizers perfect for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. However, the entrees are not vegetarian friendly. The server explained the happy hour and pointed to the happy hour wines on the menu. We asked to try a particular Bordeaux before committing to a bottle. We told our server that we would like to split a glass. She returned with a serving in a carafe and poured it into one of the two glasses on the table. We asked for her recommendation for a happy hour Zin and took her suggestion. However, she failed to explain that not all wines on the page she pointed to were at happy hour prices which resulted in a surprise in our bill. We shared the warm lavender brie, stuffed mushrooms, fried pickles and the broccoli and cheddar soup. The server’s wine suggestion was great. The food was flavorful and well presented but over-salted. I dine frequently at restaurants throughout the valley. My experience at 5th& Wine was very sub-par when compared to other restaurants on it’s level. This experience would have been better if: 1. The floor staff were more welcoming. The young ladies setting the tables should have greeted and directed us to the main dining area as we walked through the wrong entrance. 2. The server would have recognized that she had an additional table or at least acknowledged us. There was one other party of two in the dining area and no other server working the floor. This is inexcusable. However, she was apologetic and blamed the staff for not telling her. 3. The server would have explained that not all wines listed on the page she pointed to were happy hour wines and listened to our request. This is a wine bar. We wanted to split a glass. It should not have been poured into one glass when there are two on the table.

This wine bar is very cool! They have a nice selection of wine. The food is excellent and the wait staff are very friendly. We sat on the patio and even though it’s cold out it was comfortable with the heater. The music was great! I had the wine burger! dELicious

Someone told me to go here years ago an I’m glad I finally did. It’s the perfect spot for some wine drinking and snacks. Not to mention the nice live music and cozy atmosphere. Very nice but not over the top so you which makes even more comfortable to relax!

Mostly good but a few misses. Service started out strong but we were neglected entirely the second half of the night with a half empty restaurant. The stuffed mushrooms, hummus plate and kids chicken tenders were great, not so great was bland soup of the day(potato leek) and Mac and cheese which supposedly had hatch chilies but again was completely bland… since the service dropped off no one to ask for hot sauce. We had a nice Sauv Blanc but had to pour ourselves when no one was there to check on us.

I hosted a 25 person surprise party at 5th and Wine in December and the staff was amazing! I’d been trying to plan this event for some time and most bars/restaurants were not willing to accommodate a large party without a set menu or minimum spend. 5th and Wine was more then happy to host us. They set us up in the back dining room which was the perfect spot. When my friend was arriving they went around and closed all the curtains so she wouldn’t see in. Our waitstaff was on top of it. They did a great job. The food and wine were great as always. Great solution for a large party!

This was an unfortunate experience. I had such high hopes, especially seeing 4 of 5 stars on average. Not our experience,…and we usually have pretty good experiences. The hostess was unfriendly and had no knowledge of the restaurant. I thought I had been here a few years back so I asked her what it used to be called. She had no idea. I asked how long it had been there, no idea. She was much more interested in complaining about something with a waitress. No greeting, no smile, really seemed we were a burden(or a process) more than patrons. On to the waitress. Not friendly, not pleasant and totally ignorant of the food, drinks and restaurant. I asked her the same question«I think I was here years ago, did this recently change owners?», I said. «I don’t know», she said. Her description of the special of the day was hilarious: «It’s like potatoes with onions in it and a vegetable,…(long pause),…with meat.» Mmmmmm, sounds awesome, meat, I’ll have that, thanks for being so specific… uuuh.“Can you tell me what kind of «meat» it is?”, I asked. She said, «Let me go check.» She came back and told us it was Filet Mignon. Haha, ummmm, shouldn’t you lead with that??? And, shouldn’t you know that??? It was not a very busy night, very slow for a Friday night, literally about 8 other tables. I was less shocked after experiencing the hostess and waitress. The drinks she brought us were bad after bad after really nasty. Seriously, there were 4 of us and all our drinks(all different) were bad. Dirty glasses, poorly mixed, poor quality. The sangria was nasty, super sweet, tasted bad. 2 – 3 glasses of wine were poor quality and gross. We drink red wine out a lot and have never had an experience like this. The food was acceptable. Not spectacular, not terrible,…got the burger, was basically taste-less. It was fair. The best part about the place, by far, was sitting in the little courtyard. Would I go back? Nope. I’d Unilocal and try somewhere else nearby, there are lots of places close.

Decent wine selection but the food was terrible. Cesar salad dressing was disgusting, something was way off. The stuffed mushrooms were chewy and the cheese tastes funny, not worth the $. I would give it another try but only if a friend really wanted to go there. Service was decent.

I really wanted to like this place but other than the bruschetta, the food was terrible. I ordered the pasta with Alfredo sauce and grilled shrimp. The shrimp was edible enough but the Alfredo sauce was SALTYASHELL. It tasted as if an entire dump truck full of Morton’s had been emptied into it. It was almost painful to my taste buds! For dessert we ordered the mango bread pudding and it was just abysmal. The flavor was just off. Even our waiter(after he noticed we weren’t eating it with any enthusiasm & had a ton left over) admitted that most people don’t like it! He said the flavor was«hit or miss with customers– mostly miss». Ugh. Not sure I’d give 5th and Wine a second shot.

This place has such a great vibe! We stopped in on a whim, starving and in a hurry. Fried pickles are my guilty pleasure and these did not disappoint. Crispy but not dry! My husband and I also shared the happy hour burger and some kind of green chili pork stew that was excellent! They have a great beer and wine selection and good happy hour pricing. They’ve also have a semi private dining space available by reservation. The manager on duty that night knew quite a bit about it and assured me the GM would call to fill in the details. He was in touch within 48 hours with the information I needed. Great customer service!

This is a fantastic bar if you are a wine lover. The selection is great and the food is top notch. I would recommend this place to meet for dinner then head down to the Scottsdale art walk on Thursdays.

Great ambiance! Happened upon this treasure tonight as I was trolling the streets of old town. I was headed back to my hotel but really wanted a good glass of wine. 5th and wine caught my eye. I love the décor and the music. Since it was happy hour and I was alone I sat at the bar. I enjoyed a quite delicious Bordeaux with the hummus and tuna poke small plates. The bartender was warm and friendly. Too bad I’m not from Scottsdale, I’d be here every week!

Wonderful experience with most pleasant and informative bartender, Cindar. Food was great with delicious sandwich Banh Mi and warm Brie with lavender. Wines were good. Will go back happily.

Got food poisoning at this location on 9⁄26. Wrote a follow-up message but never even received a response. Would have been a lovely experience otherwise.

My bestfriend and I decided on an early dinner here based on Unilocal reviews and was disappointed. First I killed 3 gnats that kept flying around the place, that made me leery of the food from the start but alas, for starters we ordered bruschetta and stuffed peppers both left plenty to be desired, lacked flavor and was a waste — add the 2 gnats I killed during this time and the ambiance was ruined. The waitress never came and checked on us, which was kind of odd because the place was dead when we arrived. We asked her for wine recommendations(we wanted something sweet) she recommended the sangria, I was looking for something sweeter than that so another overview of the menu I noticed Moscato and asked her about it to which she stated«yes that’s sweet»… Why didn’t you offer it in addition to the sangria??? As a main meal we both ordered the Osso Bucco and that was a mistake, I mean unless you like large pieces of barely seasoned pork with risotto… All the salt and pepper at our table couldn’t save this meal. Total waste of a Saturday dinner

This place is a great find! Even though it’s been around awhile, we finally got a chance to check it out for lunch and were so happy we did. The ambiance is awesome; cute tables, couches, and hi-tops to accommodate any type of party. There are HUGE original Ron Burns paintings of his famous colorful dogs which any dog enthusiast will appreciate, I loved them. The server was friendly and attentive. I had a veggie salad that was crisp, tasty and satisfying; hubby had a turkey panini/wrap that was very good. We will def. go back for a happy hr. and sample the wine and patio when it’s cooler. Also looking forward to the bruschetta that looked delish.

This is the first time we were here for dinner. The location is great, right in the heart of old town Scottsdale. The staff is friendly and the ambience is cute, though quite loud at times. The drinks were wonderful. As for food, I ordered the butternut squash soup and Veggie salad. The soup was phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys soup! The salad was nothing to brag about, I wouldn’t order it again. P. S. The Unilocal check-in deal was great, we got $ 2 off a glass of wine!

I have a new favorite place. I love it here. The ambiance, décor, location — all phenomenal. Great happy hour specials. Bruschetta options are amazing — wine choices are abundant — I love them all. Sangria is excellent — give it a try for sure. Service is top notch, there is more of a crowd than you would expect mid week and I’ve seen live music listed for weekends. It’s everything a nice Scottsdale wine bar should be without the douchey factor — how can you beat that? Love the artwork, patio, water presentation and comfy couch area. Meatballs are a must order and there are different dinner specials offered nightly. I already have a follow up date planned here — and many more to come. Definitely on the new«go to» list. They have a Unilocal deal for checking in as well. What’s not to love?
