Fun intimate environment and delicious food! Would recommend the deviled eggs and skillet cornbread for starters and the rotisserie chicken is so moist and yummy! Perfectly seasoned! Salmon is also good and so is the enchilada dish!

The rotisserie chicken and ribs combo was excellent. I ordered it with mashed potatoes which were also delicious. The ribs were beef and came with a mustard type sauce. It was a bit tangy and delicious. The chicken was nice and juicy.

I only come for the food. Hillstone’s outdated service model is far too impersonal. There is absolutely zero genuine personal for any sort of human or personal connection from the service staff. Unfortunately this is by design. Hillstone’s service parameters are robotic. This leads the guest to feel incredibly unappreciated. It is not the service staff’s fault as they simply dutifully and robotically execute corporate expectations.

This review might be a little biased. I only had their fried artichoke, INCREDIBLECORNBREAD(melt in your mouth jalepeno zest) and their Oreo dessert. But regardless, this place is a «must go to». Great atmosphere, we stayed there for over an hour and a half talking with just simple small dishes. Very relaxed, yet personal vibes going on and our waiter was HILARIOUS. great service, great recommendations and even tastier food! If you’re in downtown Scottsdale and looking for a place to dine. I would definitely check this place out!

Awesome food and excellent service! Went there on business and had the aged Prime Rib. You can watch them cook right there behind the bar. They have great service and a friendly staff. If I go back to AZ on another trip I will go here another time!!! They also have TVs and good beer on tap so it sort of a sports bar with amazing food but not noisy; just cozy. I put prices at $$$ but they have other items on the menu. The fried corn bread is really nice. I thought it would be boring but enjoyed it.

The BEST artichokes in the world! The macho salad is delicious but… very little Chicken in it. the bartenders and waitresses act very snooty The Cornbread is the best in the world.

Had dinner at the bar during a business trip to Phoenix. Clearly a popular place and for good reason. The service at the bar was very friendly, professional and provided me with good recommendations for wine and food. If you’re hungry, I recommend the rib eye. It was presented sliced in nice, thick pieces… slightly sweet, smokey glaze and was a perfect pair with a nice full bodied red wine. There are a heap of places in the«Old Town» area of Scottsdale. I think Bandera is worth a visit. My 2 cents. Greg T.

Food was good as usual however mid meal(we shared the rib/chicken combo) our waitress asked if we were going to have dessert. Because we were not she brought our bill right away. As we were still eating she asked if we were done so she could take our plates. When we were finished eating she took the plates and also grabbed our drink glasses. She really wanted us out of there. So not the normal — must be an off night.

One word: Consistency! Time and time again Bandera’s does not disappoint. We used to go to the one in Newport Beach, CA and have dined at the Old Town Location a few times. The food at Bandera is always consistent — so much so that when we don’t know where to dine at we end up here because we know it will always be a fantastic meal. We started off diner with a couple of Martini’s with blue cheese stuffed olives — some of the best colossal olives out their! Here’s a nod to the top notch waitress, Ashley Z., halfway thru our martini’s she noticed that the glasses weren’t as chilled so she replaced our glasses. We ordered the devil-eggs and fire roasted artichoke to start. Definitely get the artichoke when it is in-season. My Fiancé ordered the rotisserie chicken which is a huge portion of their famous chicken — very moist and tender served with mash potatoes. I had the BBQ salmon which is my go to, it is cooked to perfection and never dry.

A great restaurant in Old Town… but get a reservation, as the secret is out! This is a very good restaurant in the Old Town area, with a nice ambiance and great service. They have a good wine selection(bottle and by the glass), and a full bar featuring custom cocktails such an a Bullet Rye Old Fashioned(which I highly recommend). The food is very good, with rotisserie chicken that you can see slowly turning on the rotisserie, smoked ribs, delicious salads and burgers to die for. You will not leave hungry, that is for sure. You can eat at the bar or get a table, however there is usually a wait for tables, especially on the weekends. The staff aim to please and will make it right… a very refreshing attitude of the staff and servers. I really enjoy this place… you will too!

Stopped in here on 3÷24÷16 around 8pm when the Giants/Cubs game was getting out and I had to sit at the bar! The service was great and I had the TriTio and Enchilada with roasted peppers and goat cheese! Yo can never go wrong with Bandera’s!

Stunning staff and food! No matter how many times I dine here… its a LOT… I find I want to yell from the rooftops for everyone to come here. They have their grilled artichokes right now, which is reason alone to celebrate! Megan W is the best server we have ever had! She is super attentive and always so fun to see! The macho salad is my «go to» and while they used to not have pomegranate martini’s, asking for them often enough will make them be ready for your requests. This is a «must visit» when you are in Scottsdale. This former Chicagoan is just so grateful to be able to still enjoy their food!

This place is ridiculously good. The service is impeccable! Order artichokes when available. Order chicken Caesar salad or the corn bread. Whatever you order will be fantastic

We go here every year after a spring training baseball game. It’s always awesome! We love the chicken, mashed potatoes, Cesar salad, and Oreo ice cream dessert. My husband and I are in our 50’s and we split everything. We leave full and happy. The employees are always super nice. We love the ambiance, too; the lights are dim and the music is great. I suggest making a reservation. We did ours online a few days in advance. If you don’t, there is a long wait. Oh, and we each had a glass of wine which was delicious. :-) One more thing… we noticed a couple walk in and the man had a sleeveless top on. He was politely told he needed something with sleeves. I think he went to his car and got a jacket. So, there is a dress policy, which is fine by me.

Great dinner with my brother, his wife and son. We received excellent service from Emilee. She provided descriptions of the menu that were spot on. The front end manager Leli stopped by and made sure that everything was up to Hillstone quality. We started with the cooked artichoke for a table app that was delicious and more than enough for our party. Entrees included ribs, ribeye, bangers and mash, and a hamburger. The ribs were meaty, tender, and juicy. For desert we ordered the Oreo ice cream sandwiches and banana cream pie. The desserts were made from scratch and not to be missed. Bandera is now on the top of my list while in Scottsdale.

I have to give 4 stars this year. Normally love this place but my husbands Ribs were disappointing, a little tough and small. My meal was great. I had the macho salad which was good And the corn bread was awesome as usual.

We had great dinner at Bandera Saturday night. Myself and 3 other buddies tried Bandera again. We had ate here 10 – 15 years ago when it opened, and I thought it would be fun to go back and try it again. I was really glad we made this decision. We started with the cornbread and a rack of ribs to share between ourselves. Now, I had been to other Hillstone restaurants and I new the cornbread would be great. However, I had never had the ribs. They had a good char on them and were fall off the bone tender. They topped the ribs with a mustard BBQ sauce that was just perfect balance of sweet and savory. I had the ‘campfire’ blackened ribeye. Perfect temperature. An interesting blackening rub gave it a sweet smokey flavor. It needed salt and a little more ‘heat’ for my taste for a blackening seasoning. My other buddies also got the rib eye or the bone in prime rib. The prime rib looked awesome… I was a little jealous. Two last comments: The wine prices are more than fair… they appeared to not mark up their wine at all. We had a bottle of the Lewis Cellars Hillstone Cab…$ 125. This is what I would pay retail for it. This was a very nice surprise. Lastly, our server, Anna, was outstanding… dealing with our alcohol induced antics and giving us great recommendations throughout the meal. 1st class server in a great dining establishment. The GM should be proud of what they are doing.

Great environment, excellent food, and great service. Came down to Scottsdale for spring training and decided to drop by for dinner. Had the Bandera Burger, it was amazing. Served with thin, crispy fries that were so good. Try the 4 Peaks ale, very good combo. 5Stars.

We used Unilocal to find a place to eat in Old Town and of course it did not disappoint. We arrived on a Thursday night around 7 and the place was slammed. Since we did not have reservations the hostess said it would be a 25 minute wait. I did find it odd that after telling us this, she selected«25 minute wait» on her ipad for our reservation. I wonder if the software only called us after 25 minutes… It didn’t matter as we spend that time wandering around Old Town Scottsdale which was great. The place reminds me of the«Houston’s» chain with it’s dark wood/steakhouse décor. It’s definitely pretty nice. I’m not sure I would necessarily call the menu southwest since had cheeseburger, french dip, bangers & mash, and BBQ Salmon on the menu. They also did not have a kids menu which didn’t make our 7 year old too happy. While outside you can see the chicken roasting on the rotisserie and it smelled awesome so I went with that. My wife had the Kale Salad, and our kid the fried chicken sandwich(without the bread). Overall the food was pretty good — the rotisserie chicken was juicy and flavorful. Since our kid fell asleep we ended up eating her sandwich which was tasty. I was also a fan of the kale salad. The menu is a little bit all over the place so I’m not sure I’d come here again, but it was a nice dinner in Old Town.
